#10 USC has the following schedule:
    11/21/2008 at Stanford
    11/22/2008 at California
    11/28/2008 at UCLA

#9 UCLA has the following schedule:
    11/21/2008 at California
    11/22/2008 at Stanford
    11/25/2008 hosting Pepperdine
    11/28/2008 hosting USC

My guess is that USC and UCLA both lose at Cal and at Stanford. I think UCLA beats USC since they are the home team and UCLA probably beats Pepperdine (although Pepperdine may have just lost to San Francisco (11/20) and San Diego (11/22) and may be really motivated to beat UCLA). I hope & expect WSU to finish MVC play at 31-0. In this case, these teams would end with records of:
    #9 UCLA 20-10 (9-9 Pac-10)
    #10 USC 16-11 (9-9 Pac-10)
    #11 WSU 31-0 (18-0 MVC)

Should WSU move up to #10 or #9 with these records? You make the call.

Don't worry too much about it. Just do all you can do and let the rough end drag.

I understand the being in a better conference, but how could a team that ends up 16-11 and .500 in their conference be ranked ahead of a team that is undefeated, regardless of conference affiliation?

Now I could understand UCLA staying ahead of them, but not USC.

#4 Texas defeated #3 Nebraska 3-1 on Wednesday.

Missouri outscored #13 K-State 101-98 but lost the match in 5 sets, also last night.

The more volleyball matches Wichita State wins, the more the specter of a defeat seems costly.

              NCAA

You know, it just occurred to me that based on Doc's tidbit, the Shocker volleybabes have a better first-round NCAA tournament record than KU basketball does. How about that!

Congratulations on a great season and 29-0, ladies. Next stop, 31 -- and then, who knows?
