Nebraska swept K-State today, but K-State was very competitive.

Cal after falling to unranked Arizona on Friday did come back to beat Arizona State 3-1 tonight.

Shocks should hang on to the #11 ranking this week.

I know it's a stupid question, but how many other teams that played women's volleyball tonight saw 2800+ in their stands? I'm guessing it's too many to count, so don't bother..

            :D

I just wish there was a bigger focus on what is probably in the top 5 special seasons in Shocker history. These ladies are the absolute best!

ShockerFever: Just drop it; you look dumb. Someday we will probably look back and say "Only 3000 per game for an undefeated and Top 10 (or 11) team?" but, for now, 3000 fans per game looks pretty sweet. Hopefully we will beat Penn State twice in 2008; once in average attendance and once in the NCAA tourney.

Here is a funny comment from an Illinois fan to an Indiana fan (after IU lost to MSU last night): Everybody not PSU has a bad night. We lost to NW at home despite having much better stats. It happens. http://volleytalk.proboards88.com/in...y&thread=24118
If "a bad night" means a loss, then I can think of another team (besides Penn State) who has not had "a bad night."

See, now you're the one that looks dumb.

I have nothing personal with Doc or anybody on this board. In my 3 year history on this board, me and Doc never bickered in this forum. In the 36 months here, this is our first major disagreement. So, please spare me with the personal stuff. That was a weak and rather careless call on your part.

I said I was done with it. Doc made another reference in another thread so I played it a few more times.

I agree the whole issue is getting old. IMO it gets old to continually call out a fanbase for its 'lack of support' in the midst of a No.5 ranking. Doc has his points and disagrees. I'll leave it at that unless the issue goes on further.

You need to work on your homework a little better Spangler.

                          Enough with the bickering...

We're top 11 in the nation...

                          Top 5 in attendance...

And just several years ago I remembered being excited to set a achool record or 2,000+ in the gym..

Let's just all be shockers and be proud of the GIRLS.. it's not about us, it's about them!

                          Keep on rolling ladies!

What a joke! USC and UCLA both lose last weekend, WSU wins twice and the ranking (#9, #10 & #11) of the AVCA poll remains the same. WSU gains one vote.

noonespecial09: Honestly though, how many of you would put money on Wichita State or Florida to beat USC, UCLA or Cal right now? I agree that it sucks that all these Pac 10 schools just never drop when they lose to each other. But I'm not sure if anyone outside of Penn State, Nebraska and Texas would beat anyone in the top six of the Pac.

This is the kind of lack of respect WSU is receiving. These people have not seen WSU play but can pass judgment on the Shocks.

Can I justify my belief that WSU would have a good chance of beating, for example, USC or UCLA? Of course. Many of the Pac 10 teams are "one dimensional" and either have weak middles and strong OHs or they have strong middles and weak OHs. WSU has both good, experienced MBs (Sarah McGee, Katie Niggemeyer, Stephanie Tokarz, Angela Jakubov, etc.) and good, experienced OHs (Emily Stockman, Lindsey Eckenrode, Amanda Backes, Amanda Moore, etc.). Look at the balance in scoring in the SIU game:
                                2 Stockman, Emily..... 4| 11 4 34 .206| 3| 2 1| 0| 11| 0 1 1| 0| 13.5
                                5 Hooper,MaryElizabeth 4| 5 3 12 .167| 43| 0 2| 0| 10| 1 0 0| 0| 6.0
                                11 Eckenrode, Lindsey.. 4| 11 3 31 .258| 0| 0 0| 2| 3| 0 1 0| 0| 11.5
                                15 Backes, Amanda...... 4| 9 4 20 .250| 0| 0 1| 0| 2| 1 1 0| 0| 10.5
                                17 Niggemeyer, Katie... 4| 11 2 21 .429| 0| 0 2| 0| 2| 0 1 0| 0| 11.5
                                21 McGee, Sarah........ 4| 10 1 23 .391| 4| 0 0| 0| 1| 3 2 0| 0| 14.0

Most other schools do not have this. Of course, WSU's defense is great. Our blocking is better than last year and Kelly is Kelly. I think the Shocks are going to shock some people in the NCAA tourney.
