Question: Has anyone seen or heard much in the way of promotion or marketing of Friday's MSU Match by the Athletic Department?

So far I have not seen too much and nothing really pro-active targeting a mass audience.

I picked up 75 tickets this afternoon and have about 1/3rd of those left, although I do not think I will have any trouble finding users.

I asked how the advance sales were going and the lady taking care of me said pretty good, although she did not have a count she would share. So I'm not really sure what that means.

I also asked if the students could pick up tickets in advance. I was told they could for basketball but not volleyball. The brief explanation I received was that the system used for basketball allowed them to track who had picked up tickets and, therefore, prevent someone from returning repeatedly for tickets. Apparently, the system used for VB ticketing does not have that capability.

Anyway, counting my season tickets I hope to account for 79 Shocker fans in attendancer Friday. That's a good feeling because this Coaching Staff and these young ladies deserve our support and encouragement.

I bought 100 tickets a little bit ago. The person before me bought 75 (according to the person at the ticket window). I have already given away about 10 tickets.

How about a goal? There were about 1300 tickets sold (including season tickets) when I got my tickets. Let's make the following goal:
End of day Monday: 2000 tickets sold
End of day Tuesday: 3000 tickets sold
End of day Wednesday: 4000 tickets sold
End of day Thursday: 5000 tickets sold
End of day Friday: 10,400 tickets sold

Per Thursday morning's Eagle they have sold 1,550 tickets (including season tickets) as of Wednesday morning. I did buy 75 tickets Wednesday afternoon to put us to at least 1,625. Although not close to your SF316's goals (which I'm sure were a little tongue in cheek) they are still running way above normal. About double the normal amount. If we can expect about double our normal crowd we will get in the neighborhood of 4,000 for the match. Hopefully, we will close in on 5,000.

I am also oversubscribed for the 75 I bought yesterday.

I just received a call from a friend that I talked with yesterday about how great the Shocker VB matches are.

He just called me and said he would be taking a group of 10 to the match. The nice thing about this is that these 10 will all be first-timers.

My brother also just called and upped his request for tickets.

I'll be heading out to the ticket office this afternoon myself.
