UCONN went 2-1 this weekend and seemed to improve with each game. I'm pleased with the start, especially given how the rest of the conference performed. Next up for the Huskies is the Dog Pound Challenge in Storrs, CT featuring Iona, Hartford, and LSU. All winnable matches. We should go at least 2-1.

Wasn't Tulsa a top 25 team sometime in the last 5 seasons or so?

Not sure, but they have never finished in the Top 3 of the AAC.

Yes. They were very good in the not too distant past.

From 2006-2013 (8 seasons) Tulsa was 184-61 (.751) and went to 4 NCAA Tournaments. They lost in the 1st round in 2007 and 2012 and they made it to the 2nd round in 2010 and 2011. In 2010 and 2011 they were 59-10 including 31-3 in 2010. 2012 was their last visit to the NCAA Tournament. Tulsa lost to OU in the 2nd Round of 2010 NCAA Tournament in 5 sets in Norman. In 2011 the beat OU 3-1 in the 1st round of the NCAA's before losing to #1 overall seed USC in Round 2 at USC.

Not close to that now. They had coaching changes after the 2010 and 2013 seasons when their previous two coaches left for Alabama and Ole Miss respectively.

Between 1976 and 1999 WSU and Tulsa played 40 matches with the Shocks wining 28. A Lambo coached team has never played Tulsa.

I think the Shockers were in that 2010 Oklahoma regional in Norman losing to OU in the 1st round. I remember watching Tulsa knock off #13 seed LSU in round 1. They were very good that year.

Central Florida at Colorado State is the only AAC match remaining today.

Thanks. That's what I was remembering. 2010....wow. That was a tough, tough night. Met @WuShock16: after the match. Probably shed a tear or 10 watching MEH cry after that loss. Sam Sanders was fantastic and so gracious.

Sooners get swept instead of sweeping the Shocks if we don't lose POY Sarah McGee right at the end of the regular season.

Ugh. I hate seeing females cry...especially a great girl like Hoop. That was heart-wrenching.

Yep. Doc and I met that night in-person after a few email conversations over work stuff. Very thankful for the friendship.

I think Doc's tears came on senior night when Sarah McGee was braced up from her knee injury the night before. She was a tough player...would have made a difference in the OU loss.

Memphis lost one of their better players from last year. Freshman Addison Root (Wichita Collegiate) was 5th on the team in kills and transferred to Providence where she's the focal point, leading the Friars in attempts and kills so far in their 3-0 start. Remember watching her play and thinking, girl's got a cannon.

The AAC went 10-11 on Sunday to move to 15-21 on the early season.

Cincy went 0-3 but arguably played the toughest schedule of the weekend. I think the Shocks win over Lipscomb was probably thee best win of the weekend.
