Temple, to me, looked to be the best team not named Wichita State in the AAC and certainly lived up to that today.
The AAC finished the day at 5-10. Not quite sure what to make of that. Could be a number of things. Probably too early to really come to any conclusion Hopefully, the Shocks will get off to a better start tomorrow.

Nobody can be too happy outside of Temple. UCF struggled to beat an ok Northern Colorado team 17-15 in the 5th. Memphis is in for a long year.

The Valley went 7-4 by comparison but in fairness, the competition was awful (including, apparently, M6mphis).

Drake did go 2-0 against Fullerton and Bryant while SIU immediately feels the sting of losing Coach Justin Ingram and drops 2 matches in a directional tourney to Northern Arizona and Western Kentucky.

AAC is 3-0 so far today with sweeps over weaker competition.

          Houston 3 Southern 0
East Carolina 3 Georgia State 0
          South Florida 3 UA-Pine Bluff 0

Unfortunately those wins may do more harm than good on your NCAA resume. Of course, losing any of those matches would be a disaster.

More doom and gloom as Temple loses 1-3 to Maryland-Baltimore County. Tulsa did sweep UTEP, though.

Decent loss to Duke overshadowed by that miserable loss to UMBC. Ugh. First weekend in and it appears that the POW6R at large chances are down to the ladies at Hillside and 21st.

Yeah, not good to be reduced to talking about your decent losses being overshadowed by your miserable losses on the first weekend of the season.

Some interesting scores from future Shocker opponents...

Marquette won 3-2 at #20 Hawaii last night.

#18 Oregon defeated #5 Nebraska 3-1 yesterday in Florida. Faces #1 Texas tonight.
