I wonder how many favors with the NCAA KU had to burn to avoid getting bounced from another post-season tourney by WSU.

Down 13-17, Jaali Winters went off for Creighton (nine kills in the set), and Creighton wins Set Two over the Panthers, 25-20.

The first referee in this match is from Wichita. Congratulations, Mary!

After saving two match points in the Third, a scrappy Northern Iowa rolls in the Fourth Set to win, 25-14. On to the Fifth!

I'm sure they're not too fond of UNI either.

After trailing 2-6, Northern Iowa ties at 7-7, 10-10 and 12-12 before Creighton closes out the match with a 15-12 win in the Fifth Set.

                  Great effort by the Panthers!

Match-day article by Sully talking about the Shocker offense. The article is still noncommittal on Mikaela's availability which is probably not a good sign.

If I read the bracket correctly, the Shockers will not be wearing the white jerseys tonight. We shall see.

Agreed. Perhaps the most consistent thing about UNI volleyball teams is their great effort and hustle.

UNI will miss Amy Held. I won't particularly miss Amy though, she always seemed to play very well agaisnt the Shocks. Not often you see a player start as a Libero and end up as a outstanding 6 rotation attacker. Very good server also. I was always releived when we got a side out against Amy.

Kayla Haneline is also a Seniro for UNI and is a top-notch middle. She will also be tough to replace.

If UNI can adequately fill those spots they will be good again next year.

Not to mention it is the Shock's 10th NCAA tournament in the last 13 years. Not the 9th. Otherwise I didn't think is was a bad column. Better to leave to Paul to deal with more meaty matters.

True. Lutz is not reporting in his columns - he is writing a column which is going to have a theme, a central point, an "opinion." Sully's article of this morning is closer to reporting, although the pre-match stuff will typically emphasize one thing or another.

Looks like video of the TCU match is available at Huskers.com with a subscription, the cheapest of which appears to be $12.95 for a monthy subscription.
