Emily's move up the career setting chart will be slowed by running the 6-2 offense but I'm sure the winning is more important to Emily than her personal stats.

If Lambo was looking for great balance as one of he payoffs of going to the 6-2 I would say mission accomplished. That balance makes for a team that is vey tough to defend.

          Saluki Pre-game Comments

Southern Illinois has one of the top offenses in the conference with a lot of balance. They run the fastest offense in the Valley. Thus, our blockers and diggers need to be aware.

Their defense is the weakest part of their game, but our style of attack does not stress their defensive system.

In Valley matches, the Shockers are hitting .278 with .186 against us. For Southern Illinois, the numbers are .281 and .199.

interesting to see the swim/dive teams sitting in the stands (well, standing) in their speedos.

Rather look at the cheerleaders as they have some good prospects

                        Set One

                        Southern Illinois 28-26 Shockers

The Shocks were down 5-4 when the Salukis went on a run to take a 12-5 lead. The Shockers then fought back on a Mackenzie service run (two aces) to tie the set at 17, and then take a 23-21 lead. Southern Illinois responded with three consecutive point to take a 24-23 lead and won the set on the fourth service for the set. Hopefully, the Shocks are adjusting to the speed of the offense. GT is doing an abysmal job of providing up-to-date live stats. I think we get an update every five minutes.

Finally, some numbers. The Shocks hit .184 v .400.

                            Set Two

                            Southern Illinois 26-28 Shockers

The Shocks take the second set to tie the match at 1-1. From 12-12, the Shocks took a 18-13 and then 21-16 lead. The Salukis then went on a six-point run to go ahead. The Shockers steadied the ship and took the set on their third service try. In the set, the Shocks hit .200 to .174, but .194 to .272 for the match to this point. Shimen has ten kills, Abbie has seven and Mikaela and Katie each have six.

SIU is tough but the Shocks are not playing real well either. Not a great video production at SIU but the venue may have a lot to do with that.

Completely agree with this. We don't look as sharp as we have in most of our recent matches.
