    Ugh. 6-2 Shocks, timeout IUPUI.

    Then it's 9-5 WSU.

Now it's 14-11 IUPUI after a Shocker timeout. Ugly. Hickey is destroying us so far.

Scoring on the left hasn't been fixed overnight, just so you know.

      Timeout WSU trailing 21-23.

25-21 IUPUI. How does a girl like Kaitlyn Hickey (5-10) go 7-1-12 .500 in one set? Yes she's their workhorse but hits .280ish on the year.

Got to clean that up or it's going to be a disappointing weekend.

Quick start to start the 2nd (but not unlike set 1 fwiw). 5-1 Shocks.

Service error 5-2. Service ace 5-3.

Can we stop Flo Hyman (aka Kaitlyn Hickey) today or not? Disastrous run and we trail 11-9. Hickey 12-1-18 .611 in less than a game and a half. Unreal.

Timeout IUPUI with WSU leading 17-15.

2 quick points tie it up.

2 quick points including FINALLY blocking Hickey for a point give WSU a 19-17 lead.

              Kill Hickey, of course.

              Kill Masher. 20-18

              21-18 timeout Jaquars.

I understand our lefts are not hitting great but it seems our opponents hit above average from the left. Can we pick up the lack of hitting with better blocking? Emily only had one assist block today, she has to be tired. Could the 6-2 help?

                          Set 2

A 3-8 score turns into a 10-9 Shocker lead and the Great Danes take a TO.

The Shockers pull out to a 15-11 lead, but Albany catches up fairly quickly. Then the Shocks score two in a row for a 23-21 lead and a Great Dane TO.

Three in row for Albany and Lambo takes a TO at 23-24.

                          To no avail,

                          Shockers 23-25 Albany

We hit .273 v .175, but Albany had 13 more swings.

                            Set 3

When the Shocker lead reaches 16-11, Albany takes a TO. Jody and Gabi make their first appearances of the match in this set. MaryAshton has yet to play. Shimen and Jenny have been playing on the left. Katy preceded Jody on the right in the first two sets.

After stretching the lead to 18-12, the Great Danes score three straight and Lambo takes a TO at 18-15.

At 22-17, Albany takes their last TO. Jody has five kills in this set and for the match, Shimen has thirteen, Katie has nine and Abbie has eight.

Shimen has three straight service aces to close out the match.

                            Shockers 25-17 Albany

                              Set 4

The Shockers take a 6-2 led by three kills by Jody, and the Great Danes take a TO.

The Shocker lead becomes 15-8 with another ace by Shimen, and Albany takes their last TO.

The Great Danes never get closer than five, and the Shockers take the match 3-1.

                              Shockers 25-12 Albany

The Shocks hit .342 for the match with twelve blocks and seven service aces. Five hitters had between thirteen and nine kills. There was terrific production from the left in Shimen and Jenny.

                              Post-game comments

Lambo lauded the production from the left after bemoaning the lack of production in the past. He continues to talk about rotations. He said Mikaela (who did not play) and Jody (who played the last two sets) need to be starters on this team.

Although Katie's numbers came down because he changed her to the M2(?), he still believed she deserved All-Tournament recognition.

The Shocks came to get the win over Marquette for RPI and Top 50 Win purposes. If he had to finish 2-1, at least it was a "good" 2-1.

Nice recap Moose. My daughter says JL played right at OU and she does seem more productive there. Believe she played it some against Kentucky too. MR on the left would be nice with the size she brings. Missouri state is on Cox right now playing KU
