Shocks have locked up the #3 seed in the Valley Tournament. They still have a shot a the #2 seed but they would have to upset Illinois State tomorrow and Loyola would have to upset UNI. I am not expecting UNI to lose but they did struggle a little with Bradley tonight in the 1st two sets so you never know.

ILS is locked in the #1 seed (which we already knew)
UNI and WSU are tied for 2nd, though it would take a Shocker win in Normal and a Panther loss in Chicago for WSU to get the #2 seed.
MSU is locked into the #4 seed
SIU has a half-match lead for the #5 seed (having finished their regular season at 10-8)
INS can get the #5 seed if they can upset MSU in the finale (would hold the "power rating" tiebreak), otherwise they will be #6
UNI's side of the bracket will play the latter match on Thurs. and Fri.
So the MVC tournament schedule looks like this as of now:
Thursday 11/27 - quarterfinals
5 pm: #4 Missouri State vs. #5 [SIU or INS]
7:30 pm: #3 [WSU or UNI] vs. #6 [INS or SIU]
Friday 11/28 - semifinals
5 pm: #1 Illinois State vs. 4/5 winner
7:30 pm: #2 [UNI or WSU] vs. 3/6 winner
Saturday 11/29 - championship
4 pm: semifinal winners
I believe all matches are on ESPN3, not sure if the final will be broadcast elsewhere or not

In the last few weeks, WSU has found a way to put the ball down with some frequency, and, somehow, without Mikaela Raudsepp. If they can continue the trend, I like their chances against UNI, if they get to the Panthers. Always tough to win in Cedar Falls, and I'm not saying they will win, but they have a better chance than most recent matches. The Panthers are still in their heads though, so they're going to have to overcome that.

From 11-15, the Shocks tie the game at 15 and bring on a Redbird timeout.
The Shockers finally take a lead in this set, 20-19, and the Redbirds take their second timeout after another Shocker point.
Jenny's swing for the set is long, we are tied at 24, and Lambo burns his first timeout.Last edited by flyingMoose; November 22, 2014, 08:55 PM.

Ashlyn is back in the starting lineup for the third set.
The Shocks are out to an 8-5 lead and cause a Redbird timeout.
After ISUr gets an 18-16 lead, Lambo takes his first timeout.Last edited by flyingMoose; November 22, 2014, 09:26 PM.

MSU pulls out a closely fought 5-setter at Indiana State: 26-28 25-23 29-27 18-25 15-10
SIU will get the #5 seed (and face #4 seed MSU in the first quarterfinal), Indiana State will get the #6 seed and most likely be WSU's quarterfinal opponent
