Bluejay Invitational - Fri, Sept 12 and Sat, Sept 13

The Shocks will head to Omaha this weekend to face Bowling Green (Friday @ 4:30pm), Pepperdine (Saturday @ 10:00am) and Creighton (Saturday @ 7:30pm).

The Creighton match will be televised on Cox 22 and is a great opportunity for the Shockers to pickup a quality win although it will not be easy. Of course, that won't mean much if they don't take care of business against Bowling Green and Pepperdine.

Bowling Green is a very young team and their best player, 6-3 OH Jelena Sunjic, a Croatian import, has been hurt and has only played in their 1st match this year. Not sure if she is available this weekend or not.

Found the following tidbit on the Creighton web site:

Though this will be the 10th edition of the Bluejay Invitational, host Creighton is still in search of its first championship at its own tournament.

Let's hope the Lady Shocks can continue that streak.

BGSU isn't very good but they did beat Cal State Bakersfield who has a win over Mississippi State and took a game off Nebraska and Dayton.

Shocks squeeze out a 25-23 win in Set 2 to go up 2-0. Shocks win 5 of the last 6 points to pull out the set. Let's see if we can put away a couple of sweeps so the legs are as fresh as possible for the Creighton match.

Shocks have dug a little bit of hole trailing 7-11 in Set 3. Except in VB when you find yourself in a hole you need to start digging not stop digging.
