Lambo can't have too many subs remaining can he?

Perhaps, but they also don't seem to be getting their hands on many balls at the net either.

At least the Shocks showed a little fight and enthusiasm in the final set. 16 kills I think. Compared to 15 in the first 2 sets combined.

Postgame comment: Since we were not handling the ball, we thought we may as well leave the bigs in, go with the 6-2, and try to win with firepower. [Something close to that.]

Yeah, sounds like they may have been in the 6-2 for that 3rd set. He said the Shocks had been killing it at practice in their 5-1. Perhaps he is finding that the reason for that is we aren't a very good defensive team. Lambo did say he is looking for consistency. They have been pretty consistent in practice, but that has not carried over to the matches.

The Shocks have always been pretty solid defensively so Lambo obviously knows how to coach defense and he values it as well. I think we will get better.

Unfortunately, practice performance does not always translate to play when the lights go on and Lambo is obviously in search mode right now trying to find out what will work best for this group. Not sure I can come up with time when Lambo circulated 14 players in and out of a match.

Perhaps they will have the how's and who's figured out by conference play.

Butler takes the second set by the same score of 25-20. From a 6-6 tie, Butler moved out to a 21-14 lead. The Shocks scored four in a row to get the score to 21-18 but could get no closer. The biggest Shocker lead was 5-3.

The Shockers played much better in the third set. They moved out to a 13-10 lead with Kristin Byers doing a lot of the heavy lifting before being tied at 16. From a tie at 18, the Shocks eased to a 25-21 win with Kristin again scoring well late. Sets are 2-1, Butler.

                    • 15-11 Shocks in the 4th. Not sure how that's happening with Butler hitting around .400

Gotta think defense is going to be a priority this week in practice.

Thanks to @flyingMoose: for the updates. I've been hammered today and can't stay for the rest of the match.

                      Let's go ladies!

                      • Going to five sets! Won the 4th 25-20. Hitting .192 vs .237 for them for the whole match.

                        • The Shocks finish off the fourth set with a 25-20 win. After the Shockers led 16-11, Butler came back to 16-15. Then Butler came back from being down 20-16 to cut the Shocker lead to 22-20 before the Shocks closed out the match. Abbie Lehman was a big force in this one.

                          • Not sure how the Shocks will handle the pressure of a 5th set against a good team, but this has to be some positive growth and a needed confidence boost.

As long as the Shocks show some positive growth I can live with some losses especially against good competition.
