Kristen Byers in some and MacKenzie Fyfe burns her redshirt. Lambo obviously frustrated. As @1972Shocker: said, most of the WSU points are due to VT errors. We can't score right now.

McKenzie is a true freshman, so still another true freshman playing. Does this mean a 6-2 is in our future?

[EDIT: Fyfe-Driskill are paired and Hiebert-Dudzinski are paired in this set.]

Shocks about to go down 0-2, trailing 22-15 late in set 2. Seemingly uninspired effort so far, mixed in with, at least early on, some not quite ready for prime time players.

Butler routed VaTech, so it's looking like a very long day for the lady Shocks.

Not sure. Lambo said the key was if we could pass the ball well enough and that does not seem to be a strength of this team so far.

16-25 in Set 2 and the Shocks were very fortunate to keep it that close because they did nothing offensively.

No doubt. 15 kills in 2 sets won't beat Drake. Still believe there is enough talent for this team to be successful in the long term, but I also believe their problems aren't going to be fixed today. Tough first weekend, and the first time there are a LOT more questions than answers for Shocker Volleyball.

Beginning to wonder if we'll see Rylea, Kara, Shimen or maybe even Regan Peare before the match is over.

It wasn't last year either. :( At least on any consistent basis.

If Lambo does decide to burn all the redshirts then I hope he let's those kids play and develop this year and build for the future.

Sure would be nice if the Shocks could just win a set. They badly need a confidence boost.

Jaclyn Roddy rather than Ashlyn Driskill in the third set paired with McKenzie.

Roddy in and gets a point.

Too many service errors, WAY too many errors. 9 vs zero aces. At least there's a little fight in this set. We still can't defend much of anything, but after another slow start the Shocks have managed to tie it at 7. Reilly and Mash doing most of the scoring.

                          Woohoo!

Shocks take their first lead at 10-9.

Seems like a lot more continuity and effort this sets from the Shocks. Defense is still very poor. Hiebert and the middles are working well.

Mash swinging well today, couldn't happen to a better kid.

                            14-13 Shocks.

Jaclyn Roddy and Kristin Byers giving the Shocks a nice lift in Set 3.

I am assuming this is a result of weak serving. The lowest opponent hitting percentage in any of the six sets is .323.
