Oh yeah, I completely forgot about that match tonight.

Got to listen to the whole set and sounded like our Shocks can really dominate at times. Good service to error ratio and did a good job on VCU's big former eastern bloc player.

The girls are really sharp right now. When they pass well, like the last 2 weekends, they really are hard to slow down.

They'll be 9-1 after this afternoon, and considering ASU swept Texas last night, that's pretty solid. I expect everyone in attendance next weekend.

Next weekend is big. I don't think it will break our season, but it could go a very, very long way toward making our season. And I'm including the big Valley opener against Missouri State on Thursday in that mix. Missouri State, Hawaii and Creighton over a 4-day span is a hell of a challenge.

Perfect analysis. If you've ever considered attending a Shocker volleyball match, I can't think of a more important 4 game stretch than the one starting Thursday.

After seeing @Shockerv:ball in Knoxville I don't c how the MVC is gonna handle them. #LookoutNCAA the Shockers should b ranked.

Have they even done any marketing this year for our tournament?

I would think that WSU would at least make it back into the "receiving votes" category next week (well, appearing on more than one ballot, since Bobbi Petersen had WSU at #22 on her ballot last week)

Shocks have no trouble dispatching Austin Peay who is without their best player as they sweep 16, 8 and 10 (I think those were the scores). The really cool thing was a bunch of young ladies got on the floor for the 1st time in their Shocker careers or after having played only very sparingly in their careers and most of them contributed points to the effort. Lambo said several of them were in tears after the match. Would have loved to seen that.

I agree that the Shocks looked very good in Knoxville. But I expect MSU and UNI will give the Shocks all they can handle in those 4 matchups. There are a couple of other teams as well that could give you trouble if you are off your game.

Next weekend will be a great time to start kicking our attendance numbers upward by getting out of the gate quickly. I will be taking numerous grand kids next weekend. I know its been said many times but if you have not attended a volleyball game you don't know what you are missing out on. The action is quick, powerful and graceful. Every possession is a point for or against. You can show up at the start and expect to be on your way for the rest of your evening an hour later.

Mike Kennedy really let the UT contingent have it during the broadcast this weekend. The stat crew was either not there or so slow and so wrong they might as well have not been. The video feed has been all but unwatchable. They seem to have no problem playing commercials however.

VCU wins in 5. Awaiting word on all tournament team. Expect UT to announce any week now.

Agree wholeheartedly but in the interest of truth in advertising most 3-set matches will take about an hour and a half. A 5-set match could take as much as 2 and a half hours. The Austin Peay match today went 1:05 but such dominance by the Shocks allowing only 34 points in 3 sets is pretty unusual. Occasionally, you might get out in an hour and 15 minutes against an overmatched opponent.

Last year our 12 home matches averaged 1 hour and 50 minutes in length. Our 3 home sweeps averaged an hour and 25 minutes with the fastest being 1 hour and 23 minutes.

Chelsey Feekin named MVP for the second tournament in row. Elizabeth Field and Ashlynn Driskill also named to All Tournament team in Tennessee.

                              Great job ladies!

Here are some of Elizabeth's and Ashlyn's numbers:

Field, a senior middle blocker from Windsor, Calif., averaged 1.75 kills and 0.42 blocks per set and hit .405, while Driskill, a sophomore outside hitter from Valley Center, Kan., averaged 2.67 kills, 0.33 digs and 0.50 blocks per set while hitting .361
Not to take anything away from Elizabeth and Ashlyn, their selection to the All-Tournament team was well deserved but consider this for an idea of how well the Lady Shocks played this weekend.

Ashley Andrade averaged 2.67 kills and 1.58 blocks per set while hitting 0.418 and Sam Sanders averaged 2.0 kills and 1.17 blocks per set while hitting 0.382.

Katie Reilly wasn't quite as solid but she averaged 2.0 kills per set and 1.0 blocks per set while hitting 0.231. Not bad really.

Not sure I am calculating blocks correctly though. Do they count a block assists as only a half of a block?
