Shocks continue to dominate the Lady Vols going up 2-0 with a 25-12 win in Set 2 although I thought they actually played better in Set 1.

Some of our passing in Set 2 wasn't great. When we did make a good pass we were deadly.

Most good volleyball starts with a good pass. Littles are really a critical part of the offense and defense.

Also might note our loss to ASU not looking so bad

Lambo said in the post game that they have a bit of a conundrum with with the littles. His best diggers (Alyssa and Jordan) are his weakest passers and his best passers (Dani and Gabby) are his weakest diggers. For now he is going with the better passers.

Given how our blocking has been so far this season, it certainly seems to make sense to focus on passing and try to finish points quickly by good offense or a block instead of look for digging and long rallies. Hopefully we can get to a point where we can have the quality passing without giving up the digging, however.

Shocks almost blow a big lead in the 3rd set but right the ship in time to win 25-22 and complete a sweep of a pretty solid and dangerous VCU team. That lack of focus late in the 3rd set will give Lambo a teaching point.

We still have Austin Peay this afternoon, but they are the weakest team in this Tennessee tournament. But hopefully the Shocks will not take them for granted and come out and really dominate them.
