Not a good start at all for the Shocks A walk, 2 infield singles to short load the bases followed by 2 doubles resulting in a 4-0 USF lead at the end of the 1st inning.

The Shocks were totally dominated today by USF pitcher Belle Sardja although she only had 2 strikeout as USF cruises to a 5-0 win. The only hit the Shocks have was a 4th inning single by CC and that was erased by a double play on a great play by the USF 2nd baseman so Sardja ended up facing the minimum of 21 batters.

Chloe Barber came into pitch the 6th inning. A walk, a sac bunt and another walk had the Shocks getting Erica Schertz up in the bullpen for the 2nd time in 2 days. Chloe went to a 3-2 count again and was having a terrible time with her command but she came back to get a shallow fly to Addie in center and then totally blew away the next hitter on 4 pitches including 3 fast balls in the strike zone.

I only watched Chloe pitch in the 6th so I am not sure what Sardja was doing to shut down the Shockers but seems like she was pitching to contact as she only needed 72 pitches to dispatch the Shocks.

If if it was for one very big swing from CC in Friday's game the Shocks may very well had been swept this weekend.

It was interesting to see Erica Schertz up in the bullpen a couple of times this weekend. Not sure it's worth busting her redshirt this late in the season especially when there is no assurance it would make that much difference. The problem this weekend was more with the offense than it was with the pitching. Perhaps all credit for that is due to the USF pitchers.

We have six games we should absolutely win and I haven’t given up we will lose the UNT series. This league, outside of Memphis, UTSA and UAB is darn good. Look at the marquee wins it has had.
