Shocker SB at Charlotte

In the top of the 5th a 1-out line drive double off the base of the wall in left center by Addie followed by a no doubter to deep left center by Taylor gets the Shocks on the board. Burbs followed by taking a 3-1 pitch that was probably ball 4 (up and away) off the batter's in center to pull the Shocks to within 1 at 4-3.

I can't be of much help either in explaining it. But we may be seeing why Chloe wasn't more heavily recruited. But with her potential to be dominate we need to hang with her.

With 2 outs in the top of the 6th Krystin worked a walk. CC, who doesn't seem to be seeing the ball very good tonight hit a chopper just to the right of 2nd that the center filed must have let get past her. I couldn't tell for sure what happened as the camera didn't show the centerfielder. In any case, Krystin scored all the way from 1st and CC ended up on 3rd. The scoring shows it as a single by CC and an error on the CF.

After a meeting on the mound Charlotte intentionally walked Addie to pitch to Taylor. Taylor must have took that personally as she pretty much cloned the home run she hit the 5th and all of sudden the Shockers are up 7-4.

Wow, what a bad missed strike call to the Charlotte leads off hitter in the 6th who then walked on the next pitch. Unbelievable you can be that bad. Makes a person wonder. Seems to have rattle Alison a little.

Addie takes away a home run for the 2nd day in a row. This one was tougher than yesterday. The runners move up to 2nd and 3rd. WSU challenging that the runner on second left early. I am not sure they will have the camera angles to be able to call her out. In any case, nothing came of it.

Alison really getting squeezed. A walk loads the bases. Maybe not the worse thing if Alison can make some good pitches.

While Alison is getting squeezed those last 2 pitches were not close and she walks a run in.

Hard to watch this knowing there were already multiple players that should be out that were on base for that triple

A bases loaded triple puts Charlotte back on top 8-7. This one is pretty much all on the home plate ump. HCKB will not be happy.

A little Texas leaguer gets over Sami for an RBI single and Charlotte now leads 9-7.

Shocks have the bottom half of the order who are a collective 1-14 in the game coming up in the 7th. It's looking bleak for the Shocks.

With 2 outs an easy roller goes right between Sami's legs. You will never get an easier ball to field. A wild pitch moves the runners up to 2nd and 3rd followed by a sharp single to center that plates 2 more runs. As Charlotte now leads 11-7. The wheels have definitely fallen off the Shocker bus.

It almost seems like the Shocks were traumatized by that missed strike call. But you have to be able to bow up and overcome that.

One thing I will say is that the level of athleticism overall on this Charlotte team is much better than the Shocks. Addie, Taylor and maybe Sami could fit in on this Charlotte team in terms of their base athleticism. Doesn't always equate to better softball or baseball players but it doesn't hurt.

Tomorrow becomes an absolutely must win for the Shocks. We really, really need to get Chloe back on track at some point.

Alison actually pitched quite well tonight until that 6th inning implosion although perhaps you can forgive her for that considering what happened.

I am a little concerned that CC might be fighting off a slump.

Taylor is looking quite good. She has a great swing and is a strong young lady.
