We have not won a single contested shot at the net. And ND continues to dig some bombs.

Shocks up 15-13 at the media break in Set 2. Ba has been a big upgrade from MorganW so far. She has 6 kills in Set 2 at this point. Need to find some help for her.

Natalie is 3-0-4 but as usual we just can't keep her busy enough.

I would have called time out at 20-16

Set 2 goes to the Shocks 25-20. The Ba for MorganW sub was the difference. Izzi had a good set as well as did Emerson. Natalie gets set point.

Hate it that Sophia isn't playing. That strained abdominal muscle issue had been a chronic problem for Sophia during her career.

Shocks up 15-9 at the media time out in Set 3.

Blocking looking better. Shocks now lead Notre Dame in blocks 7-4.

Shocks have 5 service errors and no aces as they continue to be pretty pedestrian at the service line.

Gabi Maas has been a really good pickup for the Shocks.

Watching, do not know much about VB.

What is the role of then player in black. What happens when she is not on the court.

watched 2nd half of 2ns set, again I don't know VB, but it appears WSU is better defensively

The player in the different jersey is the libero. Strictly a defensive player, passer and secondary setter. Special rules apply. Unlimited substitutions. Google it.

Gabi Maas, a transfer from TCU, is our libero this year and is quite good.

                  Shocks 25-18 in Set 3. Lead 2-1.

Natalie gets set point again. Issi gets the Shocks first service ace.

MorganW got to play a little on the back row late. That is fine but no more 6-rotation role for her please.

Would like to not go 5 sets, let's get this one done in 4 Shocks.

How could that review take so long? Seems to have slowed the Shocks roll.

Shocks down 2-7 early in the 4th. Lambo takes a timeout. Need to regroup.

After getting down by 6 at 3-9 the Shocks battle back to even it up at 12-12.

Back-to-back service aces put Notre Dame up 16-13. Looked like some miscommunication on the 2nd one.

Notre Dame with the 25-23 win in Set 4.

Those back-to-back service aces/reception errors may have been the difference.

Set 5 could go either way. If Brylee is going to be a POY candidate she needs to step it up in set 5. Pretty much been a non-factor so far.

Notre Dame up 8-7 at the first to 8 switch.

Notre Dame gets an assist from the linesman at 11-11 which causes the point to be replayed. Notre Dame wins the replayed point than Izzi makes a very poor decision ona 2nd touch back flip. Notre Dame up 13-11.

Officials reviewing whether Shocks had found the floor on match point that was ruled in play by Notre Dame who then scored on a kill. Stands as called.

                        Notre Dame wins 15-12.

                        Tough loss for the Shocks.

Would the outcome had been different if the Shocks if Sophia had been able to play and perhaps if Lambo had started the rotation he uses in the last 4 sets?
                        Maybe, maybe not.

Hinderance by the line judge may end up costing the shocks the match.

                              That redone point was bullshit.

Pretty good debuts for Izzi, Gabi and Barbara. Natalie and Morgan were pretty good in the middle. Did not get much offensively from Emerson or Brylee..

Annalie played in all 5 sets but may have been hindered by an injured finger on her right hand. I don't know if that happened during the match or if she had that coming in. I would have to check the replay.

Notre Dame had 10 service aces vs 9 service error while the Shocks had 2 aces and 7 errors. Plus 6 advantage for Notre Dame. Tough to overcome when the opponent also has somewhat of a firepower advantage.

Pretty impressed with Ba Koehler in her debut. Not only did she have nice attack line 13-5-28 = .286 she contributed 8 digs and her passing was pretty good for the most part.

Natalie and Morgan each had 12 kills and hit .385 and .267 respectively. Izzi hit 8-1-15 = .467 out of the setter position.
