'72, have you been keeping a list of commitments? I searched Rich Kern and PV last night and couldn't find 1 WSU commitment, but I'm certain of 3 now, and perhaps many more.

Rich has been kind enough to answer my questions previously, I may send him another email to see what criteria there is on commitments making his database.

Not other than what is reported on this thread.

Unlikely, but wouldn't that be something if we threw out a lineup in 4 years on occassion that had 3 littles on the back row all name Mostrom, Dani, Gabby and Jacqui. One reason these young ladies have all bought into the WSU program is that they attend the Volleyball camps in the off-season.

And these camps (not built overnight mind you) are HIGHLY thought of around the country. There are a lot of girls that want to attend and can't from outside the area. It's almost becoming like Gregg's elite camp. Not quite there, but I wouldn't be surprised if part of the camp was by invitation only in the next couple of years.

Couldn't they have the regular camps and then an "elite" camp by invitation only? Are the elite camps in basketball on their dime or is it paid for by the school?

Absolutely not paid for by the school. This is where the AAU circuit comes into play.

So blessed God has given me the opportunity to play at Wichita State!!! Can't wait to join my sister

A quick Google search revelas her to be 5'8" and in the class of '14. So she's just a junior this season. Primary position is libero, secondary position is setter.
Gabi was a Frosh 59 Highest Honorable Mention (1st group after the 59) in 2010 and an Honorable Mention Soph 79 in 2011 by prepvolleyball.com

Probably could have known this if we'd have read this last year!

Might as well list Courtney Eckenrode, younger sister of former Shocker Lindsey Eckenrode. You might remember Courtney led her high school team to the Final 4 her freshman year in Texas as the team's setter. Quite an accomplishment when you consider there are 256 5A (the largest classification) schools in Texas.

Courtney was a Frosh 59 and a honorable mention Soph 79 by PrepVolleyball. I have no idea if she is interested in WSU or vice versa, but I feel confident the 2 parties are aware of each other.

Actually, 244 schools, but yes, a whole boatload of them. There are 32 districts with the smallest having six schools and the largest having ten schools. The cutoff for 5A is 2090 students and above. All of this to say that conferences (as they call 5A, 4A, etc) and districts are done differently in Texas than in Kansas.

Courtney attends Conroe The Woodlands HS.

Here is a video fo Courtney in action: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t_KnXzpYArw

I believe at the time of this video Courtney was listed at 5-8. The trend in D-1 VB appears to be towards taller setters such as the Shocks current 6'1" Chelsey Feekin. OTOH Courtney stil has two years of high school left and big sis was 6-2.

I may have missed this, but Hanna Shelton, according to Joanna Chadwick ( http://www.varsitykansas.com/2012/08...l-reloads.html ) and Twitter ( https://twitter.com/Hanna_Shelton ) has verbally committed to WSU.

Club volleyball was not that big 10 years ago in Kansas (especially SC Kansas) but it has grown, a lot, and there is a bunch of talent coming up through the ranks. Lambo is getting plenty of it, and it's all good. Love these Shockers!

Hanna is a 5'0" Libero/DS that has some fight in her according to one of the articles I read. I like to hear that.
