It will be interesting to see how they do against Drake but I think they have a decent shot at beating Drake.
I thought so as well, especially after the way GCU beat up on the Shockers. Drake ended up winning in three. 25-18 in the first two sets in which Drake pulled away at the end of the sets. The third set had GCU out in front and in control for much of the match until 20-16 (or around there). I figured they were going to play 4 sets. Then Drake had a couple of scoring runs to tie it at 23 all then finished off GCU after a GCU timeout.
It was a pretty entertaining game. Drake is really scrappy and kept a lot of balls off the floor, but GCU just couldn't convert points on Drake freeballs and mistakes.
I don't know what the official attendance numbers were, but it was much lower than I expected even if the shockers were not playing. GCU had a handful of fans, Drake had two handfuls, the rest of us were WSU/volleyball fans.

The attendance per the box score was 162 but that doesn't surprise me with the Shockers not playing, especially since there were no all-session tickets sold.

And the first round attendance for the Shockers was just over 22% higher than the next highest first round attendance.
