As I mentioned on the Nebraska Match thread I am already looking forward to next year's VB season with continued high hopes for Shocker VB.
Therefore, thought we might take a look at what each of the MVC teams are losing to graduation and who is returning.
WSU Shockers
We all know the Shocks are losing 2 outstanding seniors in Sara and Abby. Both are 1st team all conference players and Sara is 2-time MVC POY. What a great legacy these two Seniors are leaving behind.
We have 2 other 1st team All-Conference players returning in Juniors to be Emily Stockman and Stephanie Tokarz. Stephanie's issues with her legs/feet will continue to be a concern.
Next year's Senior Class will include Kelly Broussard (2nd team All-Conference), Angela Jakubov and seldom used Taylor Keys (if she returns).
In addition, to Emily and Stephanie the Junior class will include Melissa Granville, Lindsey Eckenrode, Kim Wadsworth, Katie Niggemeyer and Amanda Moore. There is definitely some decent talent in this group and it will be interesting to see how these young ladies can improve between now and next fall.
Next year's sophomore class (subject to attrition) includes Sarah McGee, Kaitlyn Anderson, Amanda Backes, Valeen Finney and Kristi Mouser. It will be interesting to see how Lambo decides to use Sarah McGee but I would think she will definitely be in the mix for some significant playing time. Amanda Backes looks very athletic and Valeen Finney has a lot of power in what little I have seen of them.
The Shockers have 3 Freshman that were redshirted this year. 6'1" MB Tina Frick out of Hillsboro, KS, 5'2" S Haley Schrag from Moundridge, KS and 5'7" L Sarah Waldorf from Augusta, KS. I don't really know too much about these ladies, but from reading their bios they were all excellent high school players and are all excellent students.
We have a very highly touted incoming freshman setter, Mary Elizabeth Hooper, that apparently will be the heir apparent to Abby. We have also signed a very athletic MB in 6'1" Dana Loganbill out of Moundridge.
It will be interesting to see how Lambo goes about retooling the offense sans 2-time MVC POY Sara Lungren.
Of course, with such a large roster some attrition and transfers are possible, but in any case, it would seen that Lambo has a lot of quality raw material from which to mold another very competitive VB team. Lambo should have a lot of fun experimenting and training this group.

A look at the other MVC teams to follow. Feel free to pick a team and post your review and/or analysis of their situation.
