:47 mark is this kid, I think. The video is from a Euro camp of some sort 2 years ago.
He appears to be athletic enough to compete successfully at the D1 level.
Buddy would by all accounts be the next big target and one that is obtainable! Maybe a 30-50% chance of getting him to sign.
Perry Ellis has 5 schools in mind giving us a 20% shot at him. I'm going to say that it is a little less 20% as I don't think we are favored, so maybe 1 in 10.
As for Gavin Thurman, other than the fact that he lives in Wichita and owns a WSU t-shirt, there hasn't been much positive recruiting feed back on him. I'm going to put as at about a 5% chance of landing him.
Those are the big three that take WSU from the level of UAB or UNLV to Memphis/Butler/Gonzaga. It could happen and it started with Wessel, but it has to continue with Gabe and Buddy!
The fact that Thurman was really excited about the new staff at Oklahoma makes me think that he really wants to be Big 12 or Big 10 or Big Texas or whatever conference that is now. I doubt he would have said anything about the new staff if he was excited about WSU.
I am glad, however, that you feel more strongly about Ellis! He would obviously be the crown jewel!
What an unbelievable last week for recruiting. Massive kudos to HCGM and Coach Jans. I could not be more excited about establishing a pipeline at Sunrise.
Hopefully Evan and Gabe serve as the foundation for us cleaning up in Wichita recruiting next year. What fun it would be have an 80s redux where we can watch local kids lead us to the highest levels a la Antoine, Aubrey, Karl etc. The future is bright indeed.
