I have doubts about Reid being on the Shocker's list. But there are several others you could add.

from KGSO on another thread ....

Today on the Press Box with Jason Mals and Randy Smithson (4p-6p) we will be talking to Mike Babb, father of Penn State transfer Chris Babb at 4:36pm. We'll take your calls at 436-1410.
“The rebellion on the populist right against the results of the 2020 election was partly a cynical, knowing effort by political operators and their hype men in the media to steal an election or at least get rich trying. But it was also the tragic consequence of the informational malnourishment so badly afflicting the nation. ... Americans gorge themselves daily on empty informational calories, indulging their sugar fixes of self-affirming half-truths and even outright lies.'

Hhhm anyone catch the show yesterday around 5:15 when a caller claimed that a father of a highly recruited player scheduled to visit this weekend was told by WSU officials to hold tight (i.e. don't come) because "things are going on at WSU."

One could think that this could have to do with Marshall.

However, it could moe likely be due to other recruits and/or current player situations.

The part about "things are going on at WSU" would seem to clarify those two possibilities. I find it interesting that a day after that call the father of a recruit will be on the air. How often does that happen?

Someone from KGSO is close friends with Mike. That is how they got the info about Chris transferring and WSU's interest. It could be just a coincidence that he is on today as they probably scheduled him before the clemson job opened.

Sounded like WSU is in a holding pattern. "They gotta look at all of their options first" - or something to that extent.

According to his father, Chris will visit Missouri State and Illinois State in the MVC and has spoken with several Big12 schools as well.

It seemed clear to me that interest from WSU and to WSU is there, but as Rampage said, some things have to work themselves out first. Regardless of whatever any of us thinks is going on, officially right now there are no scholarships available and it would be a mistake to say otherwise to a father or his son.

That being said, it sure seemed to me that his father was about 100 times more interested in the potential for his son to play at WSU than anywhere else.

One more thing, I don't know the family from a hole in the ground, but Mr. Babb is one sharp, well grounded, good humored and well spoken individual. Any son of THAT man is welcome to join my team any day of the week and if he can play as well, that's just a bonus. That is a quality individual.

Whether or not he ends up here, I for one would really enjoy hearing more from his father on down the road and I shall enjoy following his career from now on.

I didn't take much from the interview until.....

The father wanted to point out that Chris was actually "born in Wichita". Also mentioned that they were working here when he was born. Then at the end he asked Randy if he still had that jump shot.

Could it be that his father was around when MXTE was kicking azz and taking names?

Yes, Rampage, as in finding the scholarship. Currently all 13 of next year's are spoken for. But a strong 6-5 SG who can stroke the three would be a great addition, and I for one hope it all works out.

We already have one recruit (Clyburn) planning on a decision next week between us and three others. IMO if there is going to opening(s), it will be known by the staff by then.

Any Chance Babb will come to WSU not on Scholarship during his redshirt season and gets one for the 11 12 season?
