    TO's

If he was out of basketball for 2 years during his Mormon mission like Hatch was, then this is likely to be his first year back in basketball. I read elsewhere that he graduated from Mesa High School in 2006 & Mormon missions are typically 2 years long. So, he may be rusty yet.

I believe he was a red-shirt at AZ St in 06-07. So, yes, he's been out for two years, but also had some D1 exposure practicing with AZ St that first year.

I think you're thinking of Coy.

Indeed he was at Arizona State and was a redshirt, but that was last year, not in '06-07. He went to Arizona State after his mission not before.

The Shocks have 4 proven winners coming back in the frontcourt next year and gain EO and Hamilton. Rogers is going to have to show the Shockers a lot for them to recruit him hard.

Oh, I was looking at a roster from 06-07 and he wasn't on there, so I assumed it was an error. With that said, I'm still not sure how much I want this guy. The fact that he was good enough to be on scholarship at Arizona State I think says something though.

Thanks for the correction Trop and I agree with your assessment. If he is a solid SF, both on offense and defense, then there's more reason to recruit him. And redshirting last year makes his TOs this year more glaring.

IF his TOs are accurate. The site I saw also has him with an avearge of almost 20 blocks per game.

I can see this kid being a good fit if he wants to stay at Mesa for a second year, which does not appear to be his first choice. I can't imagine bringing him in next season, tho.

Yup, that's what the site said, so I checked out each games results which were also available.

Through 15 games: 52 turnovers, 10 blocked shots.

wufan - As an added note, when I saw the TO amount the first time, I did check out a few games and saw where it was probably accurate. In fact, now that I have the info in front of me, he had 3 games with 6 TOs and 2 games with 5.

I take it you didn't check out the slightly more unusual stat of 20 blocks per game. Thanks.

                        :good:

With Marshall's comments about Manigault on the coach's show, I have to agree that we don't have room in the recruiting class for anyone who isn't a PG.

Royal, I think you are right if you assume all players return next season.

Don't you mean a JUCO PG? If we have a problem at starting or backup PG, with the current roster, a freshmen probably will not solve the problem. The pickins for 2010 freshmen PGs that could walk right in and take on that roll is probably very small.

Yep, that is always the assumption until proven otherwise. But as we've seen the last three years, you just never know (Ogirri, Mekel, Hawkins, Chamberlain).

ShockTalk, I did mean a juco PG.
