Had a bigger impact on most games than Johnson is saying a lot. Welcome to Shocker Nation Demetric.

[Kansas signee Elijah] Johnson was rated by several recruiting services as one of the top players in the nation. Williams, however, had the better senior year. He averaged more points than Johnson and had a bigger impact on most games.
Interesting. Johnson is a Scout 4-star and Rivals 5-star player.

Hmm, intriguing. I wonder if we have anyone else scheduled to visit, say tomorrow?
And just who else might have been scheduled to visit? No names needed, but was it another guard? or maybe a wing? Just trying to figure what line Marshall's thinking is taking.
        Dead issue for now.

Williams, who averaged 17 points and six assists per game this winter in leading Cheyenne to the Sunset Regional semifinals, signed with Wichita State this week. He also had offers from..., Washington State.
We gotta be happy picking up a late recruit with a Pac-10 offer...

          Can you say upgrade?

Interesting read for sure. Kid sounds like a sleeper and a keeper! Props to the coaching staff for the steal.

In the picture that accompanies the article, does it appear to you that Williams has exceptionally long arms, or is it an optical illusion (camera angle) that makes it appear as though he has rather long arms?

Regardless, he sounds like a good player who has a lot of upside.

Do I sense a little bit of "X-Man" attitude about him, in that he wants to prove people wrong in their assessment of his skills? (People other than WSU coaches.)

It was a different time and a different position on the court, I know, Ricky, but Ron Washington was far skinnier -- and if Williams is as good a Shocker as Washington was, I'll be very pleased.

It is my understanding we were very interested in this young man but that the visit was not as encouraging as the visit with Tyler.

But I like this signing....kid appears to be a winner, and a winner with a chip. We need a little of that.

I know it's early, and we always see recruits with few if any faults but this is shaping up as a team that is deeper and more talented top to bottom than any WSU team in my memory.....I am not saying the top end talent is as good as some years..no, not close, but that overall and especially deep into the bench there is substantial talent.

Summer games, especially with a couple of visitors, should be VERY competitive.

“I felt I was as good as (Johnson) but people weren’t looking at me,” Williams said. “It motivated me a lot to prove them wrong.”

I think we all do. He'll continue to keep wanting to prove everyone wrong as long as both of them are playing college ball. Maybe this also had something to do with him choosing WSU? Being a little closer to the player that he felt he got snubbed in comparison too?

Not quite sure what the good Dr. meant by this , but since Demetric signed I guess it doesn't really matter. Just hope both Marshall & Co. and Demetric are truly happy about the signing.
