Went over to Ohio's message board to find that trop is already on the case. The one response so far is that Joe was coming back home to visit for the weekend, no indication he's left or leaving Ohio (presumably based on Joe's twitter).

If I understand the NCAA rules, Ohio would have to release him from their LOI, even to be a walk on. If they didn't, he would lose one year of eligibility. Admittedly, I haven't gone back to the DeWitt thread to re-read the rule, but I believe that is correct.In the fast laneComment

Found his twitter account he is on his way back to Wichita right now. A day ago or so said he would be in Wichita until a week from this coming Sunday. Well, one thing is i havent gotten anything substantial. We do have a tie to the Ohio U. Athletic dept, if that counts for anything i dont know.
One thing that was mentioned to me was the POSSIBILITY that a family member has been diagnosed with an illness, and he is wanting to be closer to home for that purpose. Again, just a possibility.
I figure it wont take long for someone to pick up on if he is at practice, or play with the team this weekend.Comment

Had a relative who goes to WSU check, and he tells me that there is a brand new entry for a Joe Mitchell in the WSU Enrolled Student Database that wasn't there last week.
