He retweeted that too.. so it's real

EDIT: Article about us being back in it.

It looks like us and Georgia State replaced UCONN and Oklahoma State on his visit list, we get his last visit on October 20-22.

So it was one of those low key deals. Sounds like 3G decided that it was time for him to turn the key on and rev up the engine a bit.

Clearly a bit of a last minute surprise but a positive surprise. I kind of like having the final visit as long as it happens.

Some of you who put too much emotion into recruiting need to take a step back and stop trying to KNOW what recruits are thinking. Just leave it up to Gregg and ACDJ to be our psychologists. Suffice to say that Nolley is probably one of the most versatile, gifted recruits, physically. He can probably play the 2,3, or 4 and again, guard 1-4. He can play on the outside and rebound on the inside at 6'7 and 215. At the end of a shot clock, or the end of a game, LN is probably one of the best at getting off a good shot. This should be interesting.

So all of a sudden we end up getting visits scheduled from what appear to be the Shocks' top two small forward prospects. Keyontae Johnson and Landers Nolley. Whether or not we can close the deal with either one remains to be seen but if you can get them on campus you at least have a shot at the game winner.

Sorry UCONN Husky. I really like you. But now, this is a humorous post.

Agreed. Being last could be that we are an afterthought, and he will commit elsewhere, therefore cancelling our visit, or that we are the Great FINALE. Right now, our coaches may have an idea, but we don't know which one.

We're "low key". Translation? 3G does not beg. He believes the right recruits will fit naturally and the process will not be too difficult. Synergy.

We can't argue with the results! He, the administration, fans and donors are building a true power, and it really shows in the quality of recruits we're able to talk to and land. And it's getting better!

Coach A: "Come with us and you're going to be playing with a winner. We're going to make you a winner. You're going to have an opportunity to work hard and earn a lot of playing time from that hard work. We're going to help you develop your body and your mind. If that's what you want, then come play ball with us".

Coach B: "We need you. You can lead our team and we can build a team around you. We want you playing for us. You're going to be a star".

Obviously, I just made that up to show the difference between a "low key" approach and a "hard sell" approach. After hearing those types of comments for months with daily contacts, what do you think the attitude of the players who sign with each coach would be when they hit campus? Which approach do you think fits Marshall better?

Nolley is a similar player to Markis. I think that Donnie Jones and GM bring up winning, a F4 and National championship, and the high ratings Markis is getting from the NBA. If you want to play for NC with basketball brothers, and go to the NBA, come to WSU. We will make you a better player.

IMHO, Cle fit that mold also. Had Cle been at WSU during his freshman and soph years - who knows what may have happened with his development.

Excellent news to share even on the road. Was dissapointed he did not give us a better look but persistence might just pay off with a visit. The journey is getting fun, and I am anxious to see who we are able to sign in the early signing period. The coaches are doing a great job of recognizing talent, finding pieces that fit our system, and building relationships with these prospects.

And speaking of the early signing period, remember too that it isn't necessary to haven't a full class locked up by that time. There are noteworthy players who come along in April (and beyond) every season; and sometimes the relationships HGS referred to in his post pay off later rather than sooner, but pay off they ultimately do.

Right now it may be just Poor Bear and Stevenson, at least in terms of commitments, but by November I'll bet the outlines of Marshall's best class ever are filling in, with the final details being completed in the spring or even summer of 2018.
