Assumptions like yours place too many limitations on what can happen. Coaches who make assumptions like you are bad coaches who aren't willing to bend to what is happening and what can be. Tekele could play in any college league in America if a coach just gives him a chance. That is what makes Marshall a great coach. He may begin with assumptions, but he is willing to change, and allow Wessel, Tekele, and many other players we've had be successful. He doesn't just see how many points or rebounds they have. He sees beyond statistics and measurements and sees whether they win. Measure 2 inches, and it isn't very much. Stop placing unnecessary limitations on players who have the talent to play. Gregg sees "winners" in a 6' Fred Van Vleet (who can play in The League. Turgeon (who cut him from the National team) and you, Pin, would have cut him from Toronto. Toronto's coach must see a winner too.

Even Rick Pitino ....... that could be a good meme....(I don't mean that in a bad way)...

Would I like a tall guard that has ability to play not just the 1, but the 2 and 3 that lit up Oak Hill for 39 to become a Shocker? Yes please!!!!!!!!!!! Go ahead!!!!!!! Make my day, my week, my year, my decade, etc. Now is the time for all good Shocker recruiters to come to the aid of we SN zealots!!!

Cotton, at 6'2", played SF against the Valley, and against Gonzaga, Ohio State, Kansas, Louisville, Kentucky. Had a pretty fair W/L % against those schools.
The future's so bright - I gotta wear shades.

Cotton is my all-time favorite Shocker. If you think you can find another, fine.

If you refute Mr. Cotton, even if you are taller, know karate, or can hoop, you could end up on a poster.

@shocks02 I see that Serrell Smith was also mentioned positively in the article you posted on the Deantoni Gordon thread.

Are the Shocks still a viable possibility to entice Serrell?

Absolutely. There has been and seems to still be a strong mutual interest between Serrel and the coaching staff. He's earned offers from Temple, Memphis and VCU within the last week, so things are getting more interesting by the day for Mr. Smith.

I'm hoping this mutual interest carries into an early visit and signing of this young man. Yes, I'm being somewhat greedy but I know 3G likes plenty of good guards so I would like both SS and EB and see what happens from there. We have so many guards we are on that I am sleeping like a baby on that topic knowing we will do finer than a frog-hair.

Serrel has position flexibility with his skill set. Hope he is all shocker despite the recent top 10 or 12 post he shared recently. Love the work of those that put in the Twitter website. This is a good year to be a recruiting nut because we seem to be in the running for so many good prospects.
