I am totally in agreement with your assessment. When you're standing perfectly still then jump and they mark it (to measure your vertical leap), J. J. sure as hell couldn't jump 61".

That means the actual numbers are MUCH lower.

Always understand there is a bunch of subjectivity in these measurements.
Pssh Landry sees JJs 61 inch and raises him to 67 (though with a running start)

A box jump and a vertical leap are completely different things. Mine was 30" in high school and I'm far from a freak athlete. I think of freak athlete in the 40" range.

Again, it depends on the parameters of the vertical. I had my high school record at the time. Standing vertical, move one foot was 33". Move neither feet was 26". It makes a difference.

yeah, that's crazy that one foot can make a 7" difference. I think mine was just squat down and jump up. It was measured at Nebraska football camp.

Wasn't there a video of Landry doing a 60" box jump--or some height close to that--that was posted on Shockernet?

Missed it, but I see it now. Thanks. 67" is insane.

Two part interview with Rodgerick Brown from a local Memphis newstation. Sounds like Rod's top 3 schools are Wichita State, Florida Gulf Coast and UAB. He'll decide on reclassifying 'towards the end of the month within the next couple of weeks.'

If those are his top 3 schools then it doesn't seem like a very hard choice

Florida Gulf Coast doesn't seem like a great place to you?

Crystal ball came in for UAB late last night. It was sent in by Jonah Jordan, who works the 247 site for the Memphis Tigers. He's been 77% accurate in his previous predictions.
