That would be a step in the right direction.

    • I just hope we can get him on campus before he makes his decision.

At one point he was going to take a visit but don't know when or if that has been scheduled. The last public comment he made on visits was after his visit to Cyclone land and it wasn't too positive regarding a visit to Wichita.

I remember that too. I'm hoping his buddy Rod can at least get him to stop by for a weekend to check it out.

I think he said that one of the schools he planned visiting was Wichita State. He also said he would make his visits in the fall prior to making a final decision. But you are right that he took an unofficial visit to ISU and said he would take an official there this fall, not mentioning any other visits. There's no way to know how much influence Rod has on him or his decision, but this news is more positive than we've had previously. It sounds like our staff is still making him a top priority.

The tone of the comment was not good. ISU has always been close to the top; the visit made them number one; I will probably schedule some more visits after AAU is over in July.

              • If we're in his top 5, I'm pretty confident he's coming in for a visit.

I'd also think he'd wait until rodgerick reclassifies and is on campus

                  • I remember reading something about him not taking anymore visits shortly after leaving Iowa State. That feeling sometimes cools when you have more time to think?

                    • We're gonna get him! Just a feeling.

His buddy Rod certainly seems to be trying to keep him in the fold based on his tweets. I don't know if Tyler's previous comment about the two of them having to part ways as they head to college was due to his real desire to go to Iowa State and knowledge that Rod was going to Wichita State or if he didn't think 3G was truly going to pursue and sign him. Either way, a visit to campus (and I agree with Stick, wait until Rod is definitely on campus) to meet the team and staff and see the facilities would go a long way to sway the young man.

This is so true. We have quite the success when we get recruits in here for a visit. Just think of a 10 to 15 minute film of Shocker History that could be developed that would 'knock their socks off' and showcase the development of players here under the Marshall Plan that leads to much Dancing and success, far beyond what experts predict. Wins against such teams as the Zags, Arizona, KU, Ohio State, Indiana, Pitt, etc. etc. etc. These type wins are no big surprise to folk anymore because our Team Defense year in and year out along with our "road win %" is beyond impressive with no 5* players, but rather teamwork and team depth with players that develop on both sides of the hardwood through their playing careers here.
Shocker basketball will forever be my favorite team in all of sports.
