This will be quite a jolt to certain elements of the WSU fan base that inexplicably think that D1 athletes paying their own way should be the norm instead of the exception. It was quite humorous when these fans were quite certain that Evan Wessel would forfeit his scholarship. I'm not sure if these fans come from non-scholarship D3 schools, or are independently wealthy and think that everyone should have to pay their own way.

      What about Wessel's scholarship?

You did leave a glimmer of hope. :)

I would doubt that too many think he would come here without a scholarship but even that is such a slim to none chance, that we shouldn't entertain it.

It seems pretty apparent that we are trying to add at least one, and that HCGM already has a plan to free up a scholarship.

I'm not sure if is apparent or not. Too me, if Juiston is coming, a scholarship will be freed up. It may be more wishful thinking but a walk on scenario is possible because we've seen it before but not with a Juco transfer.

If there is any way to get this guy (or anyone with close to his abilities at his position) out of this year's JuCo class, a scholarship will be available. Without anybody taking a walkon. An extra post player for '18-'19 would greatly simplify the decisions necessary to get that scholarship.
The future's so bright - I gotta wear shades.
We like to cut down nets and get sized for championship rings.

In order to get a scholarship forJuiston without anybody else taking a walk-on would require that someone else leaves. I know everyone says that Coach Marshall can count, but he might need to use some higher math to pull this off.

I suppose they could always place Asbjorn at Sunrise but I don't think they will do that. Most likely someone else would lose their scholarship. However, Mr. Juiston has a boatload of suitors and chance of him even landing at Wichita State are not real high I wouldn't think. But you never know about these things. Maybe Samajae and Markis can convince him to join them. At least getting into the AAC gives us a punchers chance.

BTW, I think 3G counts very well. Now Lambo I'm not so sure. Lambo has 12 scholarships he can give and, yes, Volleyball is a head count sport so he can't split those up. Lambo has 25 players on his roster. Plus Volleyball is a sport with substitution limits. It really is kind of amazing. 12 scholarship players and 13 walk-ons.

I can see where there might be a player who might be considered less important than having another post for a couple of years.

                          Zero plus or minus zero.

Ku adds the Memphis Lawson brothers transfer. Opens the door a bit if he was leaning towards Ku, no?

Doesn't change anything. They'll sit this coming year. KU has lots of skollies to give,
