I had seen enough to like this kid about 20 seconds in. Looks like a high motor, can score in the post, and he's 6'10". Me likey.

Nice moves and Ohhh what a rim protector/guardian/defender!!! But tell me this? Does he have a solid crossover? Tyrone? Sign him!!!!!!! He had us at hello, you can't teach height, and we would really look great at Airports.

We sure need big men for 2018. He will do nicely, you can never have enough rim protectors.
Its a good landing if you can walk away, its a great landing if the plane can be reused the next day.

Thanks for the link; this write-up leads me to believe Flo would flourish with HC3G's coaching and program.

Here are some quotes from PrepHoops on Flo, he's ranked #7 in Virginia class of 2018 by the site.

"We saw the type of impact Florent Thamba can make defensively throughout this game. The 6’10 big man used his 7’4 wingspan to alter and block several shots. Thamba also operated at the top of the press, where he*his versatility and relentless motor." https://www.prephoops.com/2016/11/pr...ntain-mission/

"Speaking of taking a leap, we’ve been waiting for sometime now for Thamba to take one for Mount Mission, and while we haven’t seen it yet it isn’t far away. Physically, Thamba may be the most impressive player in the state of Virginia. He’s a couple inches shorter than Nwuba and McCormack, however he has broad shoulders, long arms and his frame and muscle definition are well beyond his years. He rebounds well on both ends, can finish bunnies around the rim and protects the paint defensively, it just isn’t consistent enough yet. If he can stay engaged and learn that he has to dominate players that aren’t his size, Thamba could be a high major project without doubt." https://www.prephoops.com/2016/11/va...s-bigs-part-1/

"He’s still a bit raw, but Florent Thamba has come along nicely since his arrival in the U.S. less than 12 months ago. Owning a reported 7-foot-4 wingspan, the 6-foot-10 post is a mobile, hard working big man who exhibits good defensive instincts and potential. He’s still polishing his low post skill set, and getting stronger, but his upside is tremendous. While his recruitment hasn’t taken off yet, it should gain some traction this July at Peach Jam with Team CP3 16U." https://www.prephoops.com/2016/06/vi...wn-2018-posts/
