  • Reggie Chamberlain - Committed to Wichita State

anybody have any info. are we interested? i heard a rumor that he may have verballed but tried to look and found nothing online so i was just curious if we were even interested in him.
it doesn't seem to have much evidence behind it but you never know.

He's just a freshman at Seward. Was he a qualifier out of high school?

Possibly. He might of took Eric Bossi's (Scout network) advice. Although Bossi believed he was a definite division 1 player, he thought he should take a junior college stint to work on his strength and feel for the point guard position to improve his stock. I don't see any mention of academic problems while he was in high school.

It appears he decided on Seward around this time of last year and Tulsa was interested in him before that.

I only saw the one game and was impressed. Heard he looked good the entire tourney.

One thing is for sure. The kid is nearly automatic from the FT line.

And having a 3-yaer player would be nice.

I sure hope the rumor has merit. Chamberlain was one of my favorite players in the tournament... as Royal said, he doesn't miss from the line.

We do need better FT shooters. I think the team was around 60% this year overall, which is not very good. I think Bradley, Northern Iowa? were 75-76% overall.

The team was at 68% before the tournament.

I hope this has merit. It will be better than bringing in a 2 year juco guy, and he has experience that a HS Pg does not. Plus he seems to be a good player.

Chamberlain is a full qualifier and could transfer to a Division 1 school for next year. At the national tournament his coach said Reggie was not satisfied with the recruiting he was getting up to that point so he believed Chamberlain would likely return to Seward for his sophomore year.

With his performances in Hutchinson that could easily change.

Is there anybody out there that seen both Chamberlain and Anthony Brock both play that could give us a comparison of the two?

From the game (yes, just one) I saw each of them play:
Brock is faster, quicker, and a better penetrator. Chamberlain is smoother, a better shot, more under control, and bigger, though not big. Of course, Brock didn't have Darco to throw it to.

From what I saw, I'd take Chamberlain over Brock.

The idea of having a Juco recruit 3 years rather than 2, is appealing as well. Thanks for the input 789. Brock was indeed quite the penetrator and knew how to score. He was especially strong moving to his left and shooting from the left side in the 2 games I watched.

I was wondering if RoyalShock or any of you may have seen Chamberlain play and what you thought.
