I'd say Landon USED to be 5'10", 5'11". From that picture, Asbjorn appears to be at least 14 if not 16 inches taller than Landon. We've had multiple reports of Asbjorn's height, ranging any where from 6'11" to 7'2".

Remember when Nancy Pelosi said about Obamacare:
"We have to pass it, to find out what's in it".

A physician called into a radio show and said:
"That's the definition of a stool sample."

      • Look at his right forearm I would say Asbjorn certainly has been eating his spinach.

        • Coach Marshall brings in players that have the potential to start games in due time. Since I'm hearing A.M. is a rim protector and can really pass the rock, our bigs will now have more competition for playing time and our quality depth of rotation players will be now improved. While AM must adapt to the American game and our complex Shocker System, I predict by 2nd Semester, his playing time will increase some, especially if Shaq is in foul trouble and Shaq will always need moments of rest at the pace we play. Nurger keeps improving too so we appear to be set strong at both the 4 and 5 slots. Would it ever deem remotely possible to see the twin towers of Nurger and A.M. in a game together? Stay tuned.

How about this lineup when CF needs rest. 1.LS 2.ZB/Austin 3.MM 4.Willis/Kelly 5. Shaq? So many possibilities when we get everybody healthy. It makes me believe the Shocks will be "scary good" because our bench play like starters. We may have potential 12-13 starters before it is over. Maybe all of these myriad of experts predicting us in the top 10-15 are spot on?

Hitherto, the Shocks have been road warriors to the max. With our quality depth, I see this trend continuing, but I also bear in mind that our schedule will be much tougher with some excellent coaches and teams to face. Teams we play read all this hype too and will be very happy and obligated to try to burst our black and yellow bubble, but it won't be an easy task.

We're still going to be every opponent's Super Bowl, but now the competition will be exponentially better. That goes for the coaches and the players. Coming back from a double-digit second half deficit on the road (like the MSU game in the undefeated season) is a lot less likely this year.

AM will play a crucial role in practice before he's ready for prime time. Getting past him to the basket and getting a shot off over him will be good experience for all the post players.
The future's so bright - I gotta wear shades.
We like to cut down nets and get sized for championship rings.

Yes, I remember that MSU scare at their barn. If not for them fouling us over and over to stop the clock in the second half while we kept making the throws, it would have been even more difficult to pull out that overtime win. I'm in hopes AM gets the crash course learning curve this Season, regardless of if he plays many minutes, to spring him into the following Season, primed and ready to be a solid big for us inside.

Call Landon 5-10, and allow a little for slouching. Midtgaard is still more than 6-10 if that's the case. We'll see the official measurement once it comes out.

                  • Rod Brown said they had a physical exam tonight so maybe that will also include official measurements? By any standards AM is going to be a really imposing sight in the lineup and the reports coming back sound like he is /not/ a project. :) Sure hope I can get to Shocker madness.

                    • Asbjorn looks more athletic than I was expecting him to look. Now how athletic and skilled he actually is remains to be seen. His is plenty big enough. Looks like he has a pretty good wingspan as well.

If you compare Asbjorn's physique as a freshman to Shaq's and Rauno' there is really no comparison. Physically this young man looks D-1 ready.

Hopefully, by the end of today (or at least the end of this week) Asbjorn, Rod, and Samajae will all be enrolled, measured and officially Shockers and ready to be added to the roster.

                          • Nice improvement on his free throw shooting from 2 years ago. 18 points, 13.5 rebounds and 4.44 fouls per 40 minutes this past season. That will work.

It's worth mentioning that was not against HS competition. That was against grown men older than he is. Older than most competition he'll ever see at WSU, unless he runs into a game against Grant Gibbs of Deontae Hawkins.

                              • I'm geeked about having this kid on campus, but can we stop using the per 40 minute statistics? They don't work because A) no one plays 40 minutes, B) players don't enjoy constant returns to scale in terms of statistics as their minutes increase, and C) everyone looks better when you take their stats from 40 total minutes played and condense it into a single game.

Sorry, old man yells at cloud stuff, I know. But it bugs me. :)
