Instate schools hold the biggest threat mostly if fellow players get involved in trying to change his mind. But we are more safe from a threat from the state of Bama than other basketball states. South Alabama is not the worry of some places either but a year and a half is a long time for a kid.

Humphries and Mulder were both committed to Wichita State before going to Kentucky.

No doubt that could happen. But are they recruiting him now? There is no guarantee that they recruit Gordon. I was reading other comments and it was remarked that Thur own Mr. Basketball in their state wasn't good enough to be recruited by Calipari.

'79 offered Humphries and Mulder as examples of kids who signed with a different school after giving verbals to WSU.

Monster misunderstood '79s post as saying Kentucky may recruit Gordon.

Can someone make a "road warriors" shirt that says "We're pretty good in black"? Love that quote from GM

                  Happens all the time.

Just because player X says he's going somewhere -- especially over a year out -- doesn't mean he will. If you ever read about football recruiting, you'll see whole lists of players who are considered candidates to "flip." In basketball, players flip too -- just not as many, because the rosters are smaller. But there were plenty of schools who tried to flip Fred Van Vleet (for example) after he had committed to WSU and then proceeded to have a senior season for the ages at his high school.

IIRC, Carl Hall had also given VCU a verbal before he signed with us, which really pissed VCU fans off.

Dayum! A stretch 4 with solid post moves and the ability to drive through traffic to the hoop. Playing on a 16U team no less.

:glee: Maturing before our very eyes. This kid might end up as the second coming of Buck Williams yet.

                          Why not?

Americans gorge themselves daily on empty informational calories, indulging their sugar fixes of self-affirming half-truths and even outright lies.'
