The thing that really separated Williams from all the other players was his ability to play help defense. He would play off his man with a foot in the lane. If one of his teammates got beat on a drive he would help on defense to either block or stop the offensive player from getting off a shot. I didn't see anyone else do that other than the big centers. That kind of defense is a 3G staple.

Saw this article (http://www.bcsn.tv/news_article/show/808442) today on Williams. He's not getting a lot of attention according to the article, and of those listed, don't know how we wouldn't be more appealing to the young man:

To date, he has nine Division I college offers — Wichita State, Toledo, Bowling Green, Akron, Buffalo, Oakland, St. Louis, Tennessee-Martin, and Towson.

I wouldn't be surprised if we are trying to get him to re-classify to 2019 at maybe Sunrise.

Looks like this might be a good find that will play the game the right way and continue to excel at the next level. It seems that this has worked well for us in the past with recruiting talent others did not pay enough attention too (Ron Baker).

Vince still seems very interested in WSU. https://twitter.com/Vincentwiliams/s...85373404123137

He also just recently followed Shaq and CJ Keyser on Twitter. Wasn't sure if the coaching staff and VW were still talking or not. He's received a boatload of "mid-major" offers, but hasn't really picked up any offers from the "high-majors." I think he may be more of a power forward than a small forward, and at his height that might turn some programs away. He put up crazy impressive numbers this summer in the Nike EYBL though. Would take this kid in a heartbeat.

We have a long history of success with undersized players. If he can play, that's good enough for me

So that would be Wichita State, VCU, Richmond, Akron, Toledo and Duquesne.

1 and probably 2 definitely stand out over the others in that list.

Took me quite awhile to come up with Duquesne as the 6th team. I guess that logo is supposod to be The Duke although he looks more like a flasher or maybe Jack The Ripper.

                        Dan,
May be a bit undersized, but has the type of frame that Mr. Rosenboom could mold into something special.
I liked his ability to see the floor and look to make the extra pass.
He was very active and particularly liked to swing out to the corner, catch and immediately kick to a teammate driving the lane. He then immediately would charge the lane as a follow up the drive.

Yes, he would fit in very well in a Marshall system.

                        That is all.
Above all, make the right call.

He's plenty big to play the 3, can he shoot from the outside or is he undersized 4?

His versatility and ability (and willingness) to pass the ball and willingness to play defense are intriguing. Sounds like if you went to the grocery store you would find him in the Under-The-Radar-3G Special section.

                                From the above article:

“We were playing in Dayton last weekend, and somebody asked [Titans assistant] Mike Schoen about Vince, ‘Where does he play?’ Mike said, ‘He plays basketball.’ That’s pretty much what it is. Whatever we need him to do, he does.”

He is still pretty young as well as he just turned 17 today. Happy Birthday Vince. He may not be done growing. Hard to say but if he becomes a Shocker he will still be 17 for a short time when he the 2018 fall semester begins.

A factor that might have an impact on whether or not Vince ends up at WSU is that WSU has already signed 6-6 Rod Brown who has talked about redshirting, and if he does, would be in the same Class as Vince.
