His sister is at Stanford and he wants to major in a medical related field and balance academics and athletics. He's from NE Kansas. If he's REALLY good, he will go to the big 10. A step below that, and he will be battling some programs with better science departments.

So, we don't have a chance for him and have been wasting our effort? That sounds like what you are saying. If do, I'm not sure why he made the effort to visit Wichita.

Looks like this is video from his Soph year. Nice array of offensive moves. Jump hook is money. Good fit at Wichita to get bigger and stronger. Would be a nice get me thinks.

No, not what I'm saying. Sometimes kids say they want to major in business or engineering and folks get all kinds of excited about that. What was stated in this article was not beneficial to WSU. Things change all the time and a lot more goes into a decision than a couple sound bites.

What's wrong with WSU for pre-med? Pre-Med students are encouraged to take courses that lead to a career in case medical school doesn't work out. There really isn't a "pre-med" major in college that I'm aware of. didn't Cameron Ledford go to Med School after he graduated?

Yes, Cam went to med school.

.....but, statistically speaking, you miss 99% of the shots you do take.

You may be right. We don't have a med school for him to move on to upon graduation. However, he may be a legitimate candidate to move on with his education upon graduation if he were to graduate prior to using up his eligibility. While academics obviously are important to him, he may also have some NBA dreams too and with his slim build, he may be looking for a school who can develop him. Additionally, he didn't sound as if his focus was only on academics.

There's nothing wrong with WSU for pre-med studies; it's just not an elite level school.

I know of several doctors that went to school without a med school for undergrad. My sister went to KSU for her undergrad then transferred to KU for her medical degree. Not that uncommon.

I hope he chooses WSU. More importantly, I hope he chooses the situation that will be most beneficial to him and his future, whatever that future may hold.
