The fact there is mutual interest would indicate our coaching staff believes we are in need of a point guard.

I don't know about "in need of," because I think they probably feel like they'll be at least okay, if not better than that, with some combination of Smith, Frankamp, and Shamet -- who knows, maybe even Reaves, although he has a big jump to make. That's why they targeted Smith in the early signing period.

But I think "enhanced by" is probably a safe description of their attitude. If Albrecht is healthy (which presumably they think is a realistic possibility, or else there wouldn't likely be interest on WSU's part), of course he'd bolster the Shocks at PG.

Do we have any indication that he is seeking to transfer as a walk-on? Or just an assumption since we don't have any open scholarships?

If he is healthy (that's a big if) he's probably a starter on scholarship, would be my guess.

Evan Pflugradt @EvPflu Wichita State has a lot of guards, but could send one newcomer to a prep school and add Spike Albrecht for a year. WSU could use a senior.
