I think it was unfortunate he did not have the opportunity to complete his redshirt year this year.

This guy seems to have some nasty in his game. Nurger is too nice.

Nurger reminds me a little bit too much of Kosich. I hope I'm proven wrong.

Maybe Nurger can be this year's Jake White

Not sure if there is mutual interest here but this player can score, rebound, and is really good as a rim protector. He has my interest for sure.

If any of you see him play at Hutch, a report would be awesome on this player.

If Nurger ever becomes a force (as in back-up 4 or 5 man)...then that cements Coach Marshall in the Hall of Fame BEST college coaches fer sure.

If we are going to pick up a big, it has to be an underclassman. They Junior class is too top heavy.

I know we are talking about Nurger potentially coming on, but I think if they do bring another big in, RN will be the odd man out unfortunately.

You may be thinking a little too much. I don't disagree but probably not too many quality bigs left with more than 2 years eligibility.

Nurger would be the logical choice if another big comes in, but I don't know who would then be the logical choice for Reaves.

Glad to read something other than bracketology. How intriguing, I would love another big on the roster, particularly one who has a play angry attitude about himself.

While this isn't specific to Bigby, I saw this piece from the Sunflower (http://www.thesunflower.com/opinion/...fb0eb22d3.html) and it made me wonder a bit more about Brett Barney. I haven't seen much on him, obviously he's a redshirt so it's not like we would, but I'm curious as to whether or not he becomes a big part of the mix next season.

From the article: "Barney has a solid ability to shoot the jumper. He should see a lot of playing time by his sophomore season and could contribute significantly if he isn’t already as a freshman. Barney has great length as he has already displayed nice versatility, which Marshall loves in his players."

I'm always intrigued by the fact the coaching staff apparently continues to scour the rosters of JUCOs and high schools for recruits, even when it appears we have to schollies to give.

I've wondered the same thing about Barney. I know the concensus is that he'll be a walk on his whole career but I really thought he made the most out of the exhibition game this year and he displayed some good post moves. I really think he can eventually earn a scholarship. It'd be great if could develop that much, but until then, what a solid walk on to have.

Barney has been going to Shocker games all his life. He is a competitor and last summer, I watched him scrimmage with the Shockers in about 7 games. He has a nice shooting touch with range and truly understands the game. He reminds me of a player that has at least a shot at a ship by his Jr. or Sr. Season. Not sure what his goals, are but enjoy having him with us and know he will be treated fairly.

If you have not watched him play much, keep an open mind because Barney is solid and you won't mind at all a walk on that can play as well as him. He will be working very hard like our other walk-ons and there will be times his chances will occur.

I completely agree, and just knowing that's he's been a Shocker fan in the stands his whole life would make it even sweeter if develops into a scholarship player.

If anybody watches Kavell play at Hutch, your observations would be appreciated. Not sure if there is any mutual interest here or not, but he seems to be a really good rim protector that can score and rebound quite well.

Talked to a Gillette fan in Hutch last night. He said that kavell was placed at Gillete by Montana State because of space reasons. Said the locals are concerned that if someone snatch him up schools will not send future prospects to them. Not sure how Gillette can control that. But anywho he said Utah was in to watch him last week.
