  • Who says he didn't get them closer, 1979? You must not have been watching carefully enough. Plus, their ceilings rose after they arrived at WSU and Marshall coached them up.

Just wait until he gets Reaves on board.

He not only got them to their ceilings but raised their ceilings. Which is what can happen when you are the best coach in the country.

And now they're not even near their ceilings once again?

The only things they can improve on is mental and physical. They should already be pretty high mentally, and physical, they aren't going to get any taller. They can both improve on their shooting from what it was their senior year, but I don't think that ceiling is that far away, since they are both pretty good shooters.

IMO you should not wager anything of value on your personal opinion.

How's his shoulder rehab going? Everything on track to participate in August, or is that still kind of up in the air? I think we'd all love to see him on the court sooner rather than later, but would also hate to see him rush his return and take a chance at aggravating or reinjuring.

He seems like such a perfect candidate of the Ron Baker "take a year to get country strong" plan.

Maybe. It probably depends how he looks in practices/Canada and in the preseason workouts. I'm just excited to see the kid play somewhere he doesn't have to carry the team on his shoulders.

He's still on "no contact" status. He's probably getting lots of ball-handling drills. That's what Baker did when he was rehabbing a foot injury. That's also how Baker developed the ball-handling skills that made him a capable D1 PG and that he's still using in the NBA D-League this summer.

Lots of dribbling, ball-handling, and shooting drills . He probably won't be ready for prime time by the August trip to Canada. I don't think that's a bad thing. A summer of working on ball-handling, dribbling and shooting with the intensity that those things are drilled at WSU is going to go a long ways in making Reaves a more complete D1 player.
The future's so bright - I gotta wear shades.
We like to cut down nets and get sized for championship rings.

                              • So apparently the athletics website has incorrectly listed Newark HS as Austin's school, and not Cedar Ridge.
