I tend to be skeptical and generally take a"wait and see" approach on recruits. If anybody remembers GodShawGod from SIU around 10 years ago, that's the thing that encouraged me to not go overboard on recruits.
However...
If Reaves does not end up at Sunrise (which I think is a possibility), I'm looking forward to watching the guards in next year's Fr class. Keyser could be Cotton II. That would leave Reaves and Shamet, both with PG skills, out on top. Both guards on top having PG skills. Sound familiar? The future's so bright - I gotta wear shades.
We like to cut down nets and get sized for championship rings.

I see Reaves as a 6'5 guard with point guard skills (as described by Gregg), who scored a lot of points against 5A high school competition. He seems to have a lot of potential but I don't see him as a major contributor next year.
Sometimes, you seem more like a provocateur than as a true analyst. This may be another of those times.

BTW, for all of the joking about Shaw, and it is fair at one level for how he was hyped, let's look at his 4 year career:
1,363 points
741 rebounds
.470 fg%
.541 2fg%
.778 ft%
His freshman year was the only one where he averaged less than 10 ppg and 5.7 rpg, and that year he averaged a respectable 6.4 and 3.6 while playing in 35 games. If the comparison has any validity, it would seem to mean that you would expect Reaves to have a really solid 4 year career."Cotton scared me - I left him alone." - B4MSU (Bear Nation poster) in reference to heckling players

Some people out here have an incredible ability to read what they want to read in order to further enable their preconceived notionsThe future's so bright - I gotta wear shades.

Instead of reading, you just went on the attack and accused me of being a provocateur?
If I ran into you in real life, it would probably take me about 2 minutes to figure out that you are someone I would prefer to avoid. The future's so bright - I gotta wear shades.

I may have read you totally wrong, and my provocateur comment may be over the top, but it seems like sometimes you have fun provoking others with some of your statements (not all ) that some would interpret as anti-Shocker comments (anti Shocker may be unfair also). If so, I apologize.

There may be a few Shocker fans who went "nutso" (your word) but for the most part, our fan base has been balanced on how much they expect from Reaves. I would describe most as hopeful but not expectant, especially in the first year.

Instead of that, you chose to not read what I wrote, and then say that I wrote something I did not write, and then accuse me of being a provocateur.
You, my good sir, appear to be one of the posters attempting to make this board unreadable by starting fights when there is no reason to start the fight other than that appears to be your reason for being here.
Now you've dragged me into one of the incessant fights that are destroying this board. Please note that I have not resorted to name-calling, even though there are some very appropriate ones that apply to your posting style. The future's so bright - I gotta wear shades.
