Gonna be fun and exciting watching him mature and further his skills even more under GM and staff over his Shocker career.

I tend to be skeptical and generally take a"wait and see" approach on recruits. If anybody remembers GodShawGod from SIU around 10 years ago, that's the thing that encouraged me to not go overboard on recruits.

However...

If Reaves does not end up at Sunrise (which I think is a possibility), I'm looking forward to watching the guards in next year's Fr class. Keyser could be Cotton II. That would leave Reaves and Shamet, both with PG skills, out on top. Both guards on top having PG skills. Sound familiar?

Really? This is how you think that we are accepting Reaves? I think that for the most part, we've been balanced. I don't see much of a comparison between Reaves and how SIU saw Shaw at all.

I see Reaves as a 6'5 guard with point guard skills (as described by Gregg), who scored a lot of points against 5A high school competition. He seems to have a lot of potential but I don't see him as a major contributor next year.

Sometimes, you seem more like a provocateur than as a true analyst. This may be another of those times.

BTW, for all of the joking about Shaw, and it is fair at one level for how he was hyped, let's look at his 4 year career:

.470 fg%
.541 2fg%
.778 ft%

His freshman year was the only one where he averaged less than 10 ppg and 5.7 rpg, and that year he averaged a respectable 6.4 and 3.6 while playing in 35 games. If the comparison has any validity, it would seem to mean that you would expect Reaves to have a really solid 4 year career.

What you read is certainly not what I wrote. I wrote that I learned not to go nutso over recruits from the GodShawGod fiasco that SIU fans put everybody through. At no time did I compare that to what Shocker fans are doing with reaves or any other recruits.

Some people out here have an incredible ability to read what they want to read in order to further enable their preconceived notions

If you would actually read my post and try to understand what was being written instead of tryiong to find a way to start a fight, you would see that I was raising the possibility that next year's Fr guards could be the next version of VanVleet, Baker, and Cotton.

You bring a former SIU player who has a name on the internet that is a joke "GodShawGod" among everyone for the hype that was put on him, to the Reaves thread (for our new signee), and you say that you weren't making a comparison of the two?
