  • Nice scoring and rebounding numbers. But those turnovers continue to be worrisome.

    • Turnovers look to be problematic but is it because of him or the receiver booting it.

      • I'm wondering how many of his turnovers are coming because he's being asked to do way more than he will at WSU.

        • I don't watch TCC to be able to know this for sure, but could some also be offensive fouls? LeFred has had some high turnover games this year, too, with his numbers elevated at times by alleged charges.

Daishon may need to spend extra time in the gym shooting FTs, though.

Bad game -- but he's 75.9% on the year, which is better than any of our current starters.

I would suggest that the very nature of junior college basketball leads to higher turnover numbers for everyone. If he is receptive to coaching I would expect acceptable TO numbers.

              • Smith getting a player of the week honor. Great numbers the last four games.

                    • Smith appears to get more than his fair share of rebounds. After watching FVV and Baker do the same, I like this feature in a guard.

                      • Agree, but his lack of assists is worrisome

I'm not happy with his turnover rate -- but Daishon is very solid in assists per game. I checked on some former WSU point guards' stats their sophomore years at the juco level and he fares well in that particular category. All but Ragland played in the same juco league.

                          M. Armstead -- 4.9 apg (6.8 ppg, 3.0 rpg, 1.5 to/g, 1.8 steals)
                          D. Smith -- 4.5 apg (17.9 ppg, 5.3 rpg, 3.2 to/g, 1.3 steals)
                          J. Ragland -- 3.7 apg (18.4 ppg, 3.0 rpg, 2.4 to/g, 1.6 steals)
                          C. Hannah -- 3.4 apg (8 ppg, 2.1 rpg, to/g not available, 1.0 steal)

It should be noted that Clevin was the No. 2 PG on his team much of the year and played fewer minutes.

                          • Decent game but his points were more because of his volume shooting

Just FYI ... Malcolm only played one year of JC. He played two years at Oregon before transferring to WSU.

Good point -- the stats shown would've been his freshman year, not soph. like the rest.
