  • Jeff Dowtin 6'3" PG 2016 offered to Rhode Island

@ShowtimeNation: 2016 St. John's (DC) PG Jeff Dowtin (@jeff:D_11) picks up an offer from Wichita State. #SN (HT @MarcusHelton) http://t.co/Yjkn15G4L6

    Video... http://youtu.be/8G7qQbnqImc

Gotta love a PG video that only shows 3 shots in first 2 mins of video.

Shows offers from ODU, Rutgers, UCF, St. Joes among others.

Looking good for one of these 3 to get Dowtin with these visits set:

    WSU on August 30
    George Mason on September 11
    Rhode Island on September 24

"Due to his quality mid-range game and intellect in the backcourt, Jeff Dowtin might not stand out with awe-inspiring athleticism at the basket or killer handles on the breakdown, but when it comes down to finding a winner at the next level, the DMV recruit fits the mold."

      Sounds vaguely familiar...

I had no idea the DMV even had a team! Are they D1?

Yeah...They play at a really slow pace and rarely let anyone in the lane.

I like this kid. It looks as though he was projected as a 2 guard in the past, but the video shows his PG skills.

I'll be honest, we have a much better history with the 5'10 - 6' point guards, but maybe we're due to have a taller PG work out.

He strikes me as the type of combo guard 3G goes after. Saw this today http://rhodyrampage.com/2015/08/26/r...-to-visit-uri/ which would indicate Rhode Island might have the best chance of landing the kid.

That could be the case. On the other hand, Peyton Allen had at least two visits scheduled after WSU and cancelled them after visiting here, so maybe being first gives us the advantage...?

I think it all depends on Jackson's visit this weekend, so could be a huge next few days

What I should have written (because it was what I was thinking) was the article, being written about RI basketball by a RI writer, thinks they have the best chance of landing him because he's visiting them last. Like you said, he could visit WSU and make a decision then and there. I trust 3G but man, I really would like to see a couple of Bigs visiting right now.

After reading Sully's article I think we have the best chance.

Thanks for pointing out Sully's article. For whatever reason, Shockwaves mobile doesn't always load the most recent articles. Definitely sounds like a Marshall style guard and I would agree with you, I won't be surprised if he cancels his other visits.
