Anton Grady 6-8 c/pf 2015, a Shocker!

I've been reading recent posts and the excitement so I went back and looked at the video.
I, for one, am not impressed and don't think he would be better or us than ether BW or RN.
The guy is SLOW and his outside release is slow. He does have decent paint moves, but
I don't see how he plays in our defense. He won't be able to guard anyone out on high
screens and be able to get back fast enough to protect the basket. I just didn't like what
I saw of his "motor" on the video. For one, I was very happy with BW's defensive
contribution the end of last season and I think RN will be much improved on both ends of
the court. Also, they both know their roles. I think this guy's role would be much
different for us than with CSU and I am very concerned about his being able to learn and
adapt.

Grady can still get up and slam it, as is quite evident if you watch the entire 9 minute video of his highlights. He's a two footed jumper and he didn't dunk on anybody, but can definately still get up. The highlight vid showed no fast break buckets...possible concern about speed up and down the court. How anyone can watch his highlights and determine that he can't hedge on the screen is beyond me.

Aside from all of the great qualities Grady has, I'm interested in this logic.

What harm is there from bringing in a 5th year "body?" It doesn't hurt our scholarship count for the next year. We've got one to give for this coming year. If our only option is a "body" why not fill the position?

After reading this thread, there are two things I can say with certainty.

1) I do not know Jack Schitt.

2) I am quite ecstatic that I have much more patience than many who have been posting in this thread.

I'm not so certain of the next one, but I'll throw it out anway.

Coaches have been known to tailor their comments to the audience, the occasion, and the environment in which the comments are made. Unless there is a mystery recruit that's not being discussed, I believe the roof on CKA is quite safe.

This guy brings just what we need for next years team. He is already very solid defensively including screen hedging and would likely not be double teamed hardly ever in our system as compared to at CSU. In the words of jerry McGuire...he completes us.

With the NFL draft in recent memory, allow me to channel my inner general manager. If Grady were to commit to WSU Friday then we'll have this to say "our team got better today." I'm fine with that.

Grady would be the perfect add to our team. He was CSU main option and always got double teamed and still averaged 14 and 8, with us he wouldn't get double teamed that much with Baker and FVV. So what if he doesn't make highlight dunks, all I care is if can put the ball in the basket. Out of the names im hearing to fill the final spot I would take Grady and its not even close.
