If we sign the guy, you have to either (i) backpedal and admit you're a retard from a talent evaluation standpoint, (ii) stick to your guns that you assess talent better than the staff and hope the kid fails to prove your point, or (iii) pretend you never said anything bad about him and post over and over during the regular season about how much you love that player with all the credibility of a Vichy government decree.
Seems like getting excited about the players whom our staff values highly enough to devote tremendous time and resources to (if you think a visit and the preceding legwork involves anything but that, you are delusional) is a lot more fun.

I'm with Dan. Grady's vertical is probably about the same as mine. And mine is nil. But since he's 4" taller than Evan, he might be able to play a little better @ PF, even if he can't jump.

Some people look really dumb in this thread.

As far as his vertical goes, who cares? They're playing basketball games not competing in dunk contests.

If Grady is the one, I think he'll help us a lot. He gives nice depth at the 5. It gives 15-20 fouls and another prove big to share time with Shaq. I don't really care which one starts. I just don't see him as athletic enough to play the 4. He may be better than Kelly but Gregg has stated that Kelly's athleticism needs to improve to play defense at the 4. So I think he will play most at the 5. Shaq needs the competition at the 5 and Gregg did say that Nurger may be improved but he didn't know for sure.
By the way, when I listed candidates by position earlier, I forgot Hamilton at the 4. There is no doubt that we can be a Top 10/Final Four contender.

As far as the second statement goes, I'll probably have to give you that one perhaps if he can get good position, . You're supposed to maintain your position on defense, but not being able to jump (or a general lack of mobility) might affect his ability to snag rebounds.

Is having a one year player worth it if he's only going to contribute towards the last half of the season at best? Or do we want someone that will be here for 2 or 3 years? I'd rather have players currently on the roster get the playing time, then to have someone come in for just one year and take away valuable playing experience the current players could have gotten.
Now if he comes in and only takes minutes away from Wessel and Wamakota, then all's good.

After watching a few iof his games, he looks to be mobile and he can jump some. I have no concerns about any part of his defense or his ability to rebound. Wish he shot free throws a little better. He can score to keep the defense honest. I don't expext him to be a star but certainly a major contributor to the team.In the fast lane
