I think Hamdy is out on the west coast (Fresno State?). He had went home and decided he wasn't coming back until one of the AC's out there talked him into coming to that university.

ok, I went back and re-read the links. Aly Ahmed is the other guy that's out in California. Ahmed Hamdy, whose full name is Ahmed Hamdy Muhamed is the guy we're after that initially signed with UH and then went to Lee JUCO.

I think it depends on how much is expected of the returners. If Bush turns into EO 2.0, Shaq into Carl Hall 2.0, Nurger into junior season Stutz, and Hamilton can provide some defense, athleticism, and height as a Frosh then what do we really need?

Lot of "ifs" there.

I don't see our need for a high impact big as high as some. Reasonably we can expect Bush, Rauno and Shaq to be improved. Can we expect 80 good minutes a game from some combination of those 3 and Wessel, Brown, Hamilton and McDuffie? Maybe, maybe not. We don't need the second coming of Hakeem Olajuwon, just the second coming of Chadrack Lufile.

Problem is it took season 2 for CL to start contributing. None of the bigs we're after appear on paper to be someone who can realistically be ready to contribute their first season.

I don't disagree with this but it still doesn't change the fact that it almost always takes jucos 1 year of adjustment before they're ready to contribute. That is unless there's another Cle out there. Which is why I'm a little underwhelmed with the bigs we're looking to bring in. Nothing against these guys but our senior AA's deserve fresh blood in the paint that is ready to go from day 1. I wish there was a quality big transfer we could plug in.

Darius and Carl Hall were both solid contributors their Jr year. I don't think we need a world beater, we just need a guy that can come in the relief role, whether that's at the 4 or 5. It's a stop gap until we can find a really good freshman.

I for one think that the returning combo of Kelly/Morris/Wamukota/Nurger can be good enough that we don't have to have anyone else at the 4/5. I also think that they will be as good or better than anyone that we have known interest in. Hamilton and/or McDuffie have the potential to be very good very soon.

You are right.... But the fact that you think and are not for sure is why mostb think we need anOther big... Purely risk management

What we know for sure:
Morris will play as much as he can stay on the court due to fouls or fatigue
Wamukota will be a guy that can come in on occasion to grab some boards and set screens
Kelly will provide a high motor and occasional put backs

other than that, the rest is pure hope and speculation
