We have a guy that looks just like Harding on our team, his name is Ty Taylor. He also was a high scoring guard and we're still trying to figure out if he can play at this level.

Harding is not nearly as fast or as quick as TTT

I believe Jerrick Harding will be a very productive player in college. I think he will be a better scorer than Ragland, not to take anything away from him.

I saw them both play in high school (also did a video on Taylor which is on this site and YouTube). I like them both and although Taylor put up numbers in high school and they're left-handed, I think they have different styles. Harding is a better perimeter shooter and has a better feel for scoring whereas Taylor is a better distributor and more of a true passing point guard in addition to being taller.

Like I said, evaluating talent is a difficult job. It's better not done by amateurs.

Jerrick has a great understanding of the game. Might he take the Jahmal Mcmurray route to up his stock?

Not sure, haven't talked to him about it. In regards to Jahmal (and not to thread jack too much) his recruitment clearly wasn't because of a lack of ability, just not enough people saw him. He's clearly making a smooth transition to DI this year leading USF in scoring and just dropped 30 the other day. One thing I will say about Jahmal's recruitment is former Shocker Matt Braeuer, now an assistant at Sam Houston State, was very high on him.

Jerrick Harding just scored 38 points in a win over Wichita East tonight. I'm done.

Here's an in-depth article on Jerrick Harding on 247Sports (free) and he talks about Wichita State

Colleges looking for a hidden gem in the spring signing period should take a serious look at Wichita (Kan.) Southeast point guard Jerrick Harding, who is averaging 26.1 points on 54.9-percent shooting.

Agreed, pin -- also seems like a guy who matches up well with WSU.

Unfortunately, the Shocks have a numbers problem right now, and I'm not sure how they could get around it. Maybe a post-grad year at Sunrise for Harding would be a start, although the Shocks don't have any scheduled seniors in the class of 2017, either; or a suitable junior college; or a year at Sunrise followed by the Ron Baker deal -- who knows? But it would be nice to keep a big-time local player at home, and we know that not getting he national ink that Ellis and Frankamp did doesn't necessarily mean he isn't big time.

Sam Houston State has now offered Harding after seeing him score 37 in yesterday's game. UMKC has told Harding they plan to offer.
