      • St. Anthony leads 21-15 at halftime.

My first observation was this looks like a low-major D1 game. Lots of athletes. I think each team has several kids that are committed or being recruited at the D1 level.

McDuffie is being guarded very closely by Roselle Catholic. He forced a few shots and was only 1-5 from the field, with his only basket being a nice drive to the hoop in transition. Still unclear to me whether he is a 3 or 4 at the next level, probably both.

Asante Gist of Roselle Catholic and Jagan Mosley of St. Anthony's are two other players to keep an eye on.

        McDuffie's halftime stats:
        Points-6
        3FG-(0-1)
        2FG-(1-4)
        REB-8(1 offensive)
        FT-(4-6)
        TO-3

Yes he is and not too strong unfortunately. So far in watching him play...definitely not a post-up 4 guy. More of a stretch 3 like Cle. If the Shocks plan using him at the 4-spot....probably another candidate for either a redshirt or Sunrise.

            • Oh man...I'm sorry to report....the 5 minutes I've been watching...McDuffie has an airball from 10 feet. A bad pass in the lane for a turnover. Has fallen down twice. And two missed shots. C'mon kid!!! Let's see you play better!!!!

                • Terrible boxout on the second missed free throw by McDuffie and the other team (his man) scored on the rebound to go back up by 6. Less than 2 minutes. Uggghhh...

I have seen comments like this in the "Inside" thread mentioning McDuffie as a 4/PF. Where did this come from? I've never read anything other than him being a wing/SF.

Yeah definitely a 3. Should be a good one for us as long as he doesn't get placed at the 4 spot.

McDuffie is absolutely a SF. So is Zach Brown and Evan Wessel. Alas, they play a stretch 4. McDuffie, with the possibility of being 6-9 plus, would be similarly suited to play out of position should the need arise.

Cle was a stretch 4 in college. He played mostly on the perimeter but was taught to expand his game to include playing with his back to the basket and driving it to the rim. Some people put basketball players in a box. I guarantee you that if Baker saw an opening to post up with his back to the basket, he could do it. Magic was a point guard but he posted up from time to time when he saw a mis-match because he wanted to score. They are basketball players, not robots.

According to his coach, McDuffie will be 6'9 or maybe even 6'10. He compared him to Durant. Durant is a perimeter player who can post up or take the ball to the rim to score because he is a basketball player.
