Looks like the usual random, out of the blue Shockernet speculation, tending to aim at one guy with no factual basis at this point. Give us a boring stretch late in the signing period -- or pretty much any other time -- and the witches' cauldron (hence the name Witchita) starts to bubble.

No doubt some of the posts will soon start being quoted as Internet rumors, or "the word is," or other similar bovine droppings.

Edit: Nice blast from the past on Teddy Hawkins, AndShock.

Someone going prep would be awesome.

I think it's a little more than random speculation. I heard it from a guy who heard HCGM talking about it at the golf tourney today. He didn't mention any names. I guess time will tell.

And I know Junior would like to play here to follow in his dad's steps. So scholarships will be few and far between. Maybe Junior can prep after his senior year.
Do we have any interest in Jr.?

And that's the thing. I don't know if we do. He's going to have to have a tremendous season for the coaching staff to want him more than some of the other players they're looking at.

I don't believe anything prevents him from doing both if he needed the time. Unlikely, but HCGM loves him some 23-25 year old seniors.

Can we send our freshmen out on two year missions like the Mormons?

The risk with prep school is that it opens up the player for rerecruitment. A 6'9" athlete with nearly unlimited upside would gather a lot of lookers. Hope it is not Hamilton, to me he is the prize jewel in this class and I would not want to take any risk in regards to where he ends up.

The awesomeness of someone going prep is directly proportional to your team's success in re-recruiting him if necessary so that he comes after his prep year is up.

Eric would add a little something to the mix. I can't remember ... do we have any guards that can throw an oop?

I don't think the Church of Wu has the same pull with the NCAA as the Mormons do. They're pretty organized and influential -- definitely not just "at this level."

Does anybody ever go back to the original school?
