It's getting late for current player to announce a transfer. If we add another, a committed recruit not coming makes the most sense.

Marshall is big on second chances, if Gregg thinks Eric is a good fit and worthy of a place on this team, then booyah. We've had players with skeptical pasts and they turn out great. I can't remember the last transfer we had a problem with. Incoming freshmen are the ones who have an issue. It's the green grass theory, and the young guys think it will be better elsewhere. Maybe for them it is, but it's interesting that WSU becomes home to quite a bit of JUCO and upperclassmen transfers that have no issue here. They understand Marshall is demanding but is fair, and wants to win. And I've been saying for a while now that if you think we won't sign another player, you're naive.

Has this guy graduated and looking to play somewhere his senior year? At first glance I thought he might pay his own way during the transfer year like Armstead or Coleby, but he's already transferred once so he doesn't have the extra year to sit out.

According to a thread I read about McKnight on Shockernet, he's eligible right away.
“The rebellion on the populist right against the results of the 2020 election was partly a cynical, knowing effort by political operators and their hype men in the media to steal an election or at least get rich trying. But it was also the tragic consequence of the informational malnourishment so badly afflicting the nation. ... Americans gorge themselves daily on empty informational calories, indulging their sugar fixes of self-affirming half-truths and even outright lies.'

He'll probably redshirt, though, right? :)

If a current player wanted to leave for a juco or smaller school -- and I have no idea whether that's true and don't intend to speculate -- there's certainly plenty of time, because the D-1 signing period is still on, and many of those schools won't know who's available until after the big boys have done whatever signing they're going to do. So it's certainly premature at this point to guess whether any opening would be the result of a current player's scholarship coming open or a recruit's failing to qualify.

Either way, if one of those things happens, McKnight seems like a talented player. But he doesn't shoot the three, and he's a 50% foul shooter.
