Bush Wamukota 7 Foot C 2014 - is a Shocker!

Don't forget that we have Shaq, who will more than likely play the kind of minutes that Carl played. Bush will more than likely play the kind of minutes EO played (unless he is more skilled than we expect). The combo of Hall/EO worked out well. Why not embrace the Shaq/Bush combo?“Let your plans be dark and impenetrable as night, and when you move, fall like a thunderbolt.”

You mean to tell me that basketball is a team sport where individuals of varying skill sets can each make meaningful contributions to individual victories, season accomplishments and program building? Interesting concept. Perhaps the coaching staff feels this recruit has assets that can be a piece on another successful team.
Your point that EO was not wholly responsible for WSU's recent success and Final Four run is valid. I never said otherwise. My point that listing EO's statistics and off-court qualities without including the team's success while he was here is just as valid.

All of this Plan A, Plan B, Plan C stuff is awfully presumptuous...
Nobody knows what the coaching staff's plan A,B,C are/were.
I have yet to see a big man 6' 10" or over since Robert Elmore who wasn't a project in one respect or another. That includes the following players that I have seen or am aware of (can't talk much about the 90's).
Ozell Jones, Tom Kosich, Greg Dreiling, Zarko Dsurisic Paul Miller...
some of those players worked about better than others but all had limitations to one degree or another when they first got here.
Anyone who thinks WSU is going to be a slam dunk for a high impact out of the box big man recruit, even with a Final Four has unreasonable expectations. Even KU's big men of the past few years were projects including Joel Embiid.
If this kid does ONLY what EO did his senior year, he will be worth the scholarship. I expect he will be a bit more offensively... but I don't want to be presumptuous....
Let the coaches do their job... I for one do not believe there would be a better talent pool in April then there is in November...Kansas is Flat. The Earth is Not!!

I think it is very important to remember that the situation now is completely different from when EO was brought aboard, as some have already mentioned. The biggest difference is that we don't NEED a guy that can give us a ton of offense from the 5 spot to be effective. We have shooters and slashers all the way down the roster, and the next generation of shooters and slashers to back them up and eventually replace them as starters. And we have Shaq and Carter, each of whom looks to be at least adequate in the scoring department.
All we need from a backup center is a guy that can give us 15-20 minutes a game of shot-blocking presence. Our top targets hopefully would have given us that and more, but Bush can fill that role just as well. If he can give us more, than it will just be frosting on the top. Even if we don't need him every game, he'll be another tool in the toolbox. And personally I love having a footer in the toolbox, even if they are the definition of a prospect. And for what its worth, Bush could easily surpass Orukpe if he has softer hands, as that was by far the Orukpe's biggest failing.

Brwak out the video of Bill Russell and give Bush W. (not W. Bush) a DVR remote and let him learn"I not sure that I've ever been around a more competitive player or young man than Fred VanVleet.
